Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Patrick Macdonald
Well its early days… but I think I’ve got a concept I’m happy with going with…
Its not the most original of ideas around… but what do you think??
This sketch is a closup of the character that will feature in an interrogation scene.
Basically the character is hung by hooks, with further hooks stretching the skin in all directions. Electrodes and spikes will form other forms of torture, along with the prerequisite areas of flesh that have been exposed to the elements… various devices will be devised to inflict maximum ‘pursuasion’
I am also thinking of creating a character for the interrogator… but as the victim is pretty much wired up, I might just put him in an empty room/booth… with the interrigator behind a screen, or linked by teleconference monitors ala 12 monkeys…

lets have your thoughts!
Ok… not sure if I’m going to go with the captive character yet… but I’ve thought up quite an interesting character for the interrigator… a baboon that is wired up neurally and physically. the human interrigators are in a different location so as to reduce the psychological impact of their actions. Instead they have a baboon wired up to inflict the torture… the human interrigators can control the baboons aggression remotely, and communicate with the captive by video link… Quite a terrifying situation I hope you will agree!

ok… another idea… another image…
after seeing all the great ideas on this comp, I thought I had to come up with something a little better…
another dodgey sketch… but hopefuly the beginnings of a more amusing idea…
the uber-couch-potato… ( aka the addict )
Not much in the way of synthetic implants yet, but I think the character lends itself to many modifications.
Concept : Based in the future where kids are able to survive under increasing levels of obesity and self-harm. Many resort to back street surgeries to prolong their pointless lives as consumers of everything. They no longer require the use of their kidneys, lungs, etc as external components take over their vital functions. Various drugs allow them to stay awake permenantly. Nutrition and energy are provided intrevenously, and waste products are recycled to reduce the cost of living…
early days on this concept… needless to say, this is going to be one sick puppy!

another wee update on my couch potato… plenty more work to do before this idea gets to the stage I can think about modelling him… I’m going to work on the idea that his body if hard wired into the fabric of his house…
c+c please
This is the first time I have used the ol’ bit wacom to develop my concept sketches… I think I’m beginning to get the hang of it!
