Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Norman Rosenstech
Well, it’s my first contest !
I will try to post the first concept sketches by the end of the week.
I’m still thinking.:banghead:
The first quick sketches !
Since they are not so clean, here is the concept idea :
Think about a huge carnivorous mechanical plant using a bait (the woman’s body) to lure innocent victims.
hmm… strange idea…Is it like some (military) weapon just to kill people…
or can the plant “use” the meat to produce something, or maybe reproduce itself?
The whole plant is an autonomous biomechanical lifeform.
It is a sophisticated form of vampirism in a way :
The woman (which is part of the lifeform) lives in symbiosis with the plant. She lures the preys, sucks their blood to feed itself and the plant.
The mechanical part (flower), by some sort of hideous technology feeds also itself with the remains (flesh and bones) of the preys left on the ground.

And like all plants, it grows by eating.
This is disgusting, yes I know, this is why it is funny.
This is not a military weapon. It as an alien lifeform.
Maybe I’ll try to find other ideas but I think this is the good one.:wip:
Well, I’ve read (quotes/issues section) that the mechanical parts should not overwhelm the flesh part.
And that the purpose is more to make a flesh character enhanced with mechanical parts than the contrary.
I’m not so shure but I think I’ll have to revise my concept or change it completely…
:surprised
The flower aspect is not obvious neither the fusion between the plant and the body in this one.But I am going to work on it.
I think that I will add many rusty metal parts in the female body. They will echo the plant’s shape and materials.
Ok, for my next post, I will try to focus on the symbiotic relationship between the plant and the body.
:banghead:
I don’t like the body floating in the hole at the center. The flower looks too much like a piece of environment in this case.
It seems that I have a lot of concept work ahead before beginning to model…:arteest:
I Looooooooooooove her!!! She´s amazing. Can´t wait to see the final model. WOW. Where can I buy those plants?
Thanks Locusta !
I wish I could find that kind of plant in department stores !
Sure, it would help me to define the concept precisely…
:wip:
As I said, I’m not happy with thoses sketches…
Stand by for a new blast of concept sketches !:buttrock:
:bounce: :bounce:
Interesting design. I like your sketches so far. Are you planning to have that plant able to move on its own?
:buttrock:
Good idea and sketches.
I think she could be like your third sketch, with the legs of your last one
excellent idea!
imagine a great field with full of these “flowers”. hmm…
short life for men…
Thanks to everyone for your support and your comments !! ![]()
I guess I’m late and there is so much work to do !!
The lower part of the body is still puzzling me…
I’ll post a few sketches tomorrow about that.
I hope I’ll get into 3d during this week.
