Versiden… crazy man crazy detail… i like it… and i love the way you have layered up the skin around the mechanical parts… what app are you using ?.. keep up the sweet work man:thumbsup:

#42

Hi Versiden,

Thx for your comments on my page.
Your modeling skills are excellent. details and idea looks pretty good.
especially I like your solutions about flesh and mechanic’s joints.

KEEP IT UP:bounce:

#43

You Vers, its UL here… Must just through in my 5cents dude…

Your work is ZOMP! Ownage of note… Second to none…

Show these kops wat SA’’ baboons can do!

Love you work dude… Especially the detail on the ogre dude… The implants on the back is amazing!

Keep it up!

#44

ParadiseFlyBird, thanks man. The skin wrinkles around the mechanics took some time to do, and probably won’t see much of it in the final image ;((( I’m using 3dsmax5

Tremoside, glad to hear -thx

UL, 'sup man… thanks… keep watching

#45

Go South Africa Go, sR Typo here REPORTING WITH PRIDE

braai and beer all the way :stuck_out_tongue:

#46

hehe, nice design u have there!, i really like your concept and i must say that your modeling technique is very clean, i have only one crit, The jaw… maybe a little bit smoother on that corner, but if you dont change it is ok, is just matter of personal taste, the rest is amazing, keep on the nice work!

#47

Yo Vers, and TYPO,
Been checking out some of the other entries, and i must say, your modeling is very clean, and still has a brilliant effect.

Just 1 question though. Why not do the Stroth Man-Machine?
Drinking-eating maniac ?? :stuck_out_tongue:

Keep it up, dude. I dieing to see how the sucker is going to look on that chair…

Btw. Exactly how big is the ogre to this Alien?

#48

Very nice progress, Versiden!!!

…and I have to agree with Rattlesnake, and yes this is a question of personal taste;)

Keep on the nice work:thumbsup:

#49

y0 Sach, rattlesnake

funny you guys should mention… I’ve already fixed that jaw problem yesterday… you’re right it was looking a bit sharp.
Sorted ;p

Will upload tonight and you can tell me what u think.

was going to upload when I was done with the arms/hands - it’s almost done. Couldn’t find any decent references of skinny people so I had to wing it.

#50

another update, fixed some issues with the jaw area + mouth/cheek

still need to complete the back, that’s not done yet, just basic shape

arms + hand are in place for now… busy tweaking and trying to fix envelope problems.

#51

Nice work, just 1 question.
Not being picky or anything, just 1 :stuck_out_tongue:

Could we please get a frontal of the alien?
So we can fully appreciate the arms, plus give C&C’s

That would be sweet! :bounce:

but Still, the jaw is looking much better, and the alien in a whole has a physically - weak, Mentally - Unstoppable feel to it…

while the ogre Looks to doff for words, Something out of MoD maybe… trend?? :stuck_out_tongue:

Keep it up, cant wait for when you combine the two
Edit
1 more thing I would like to say  to is the way you designed the neck!

Since most aliens of this status have very slim necks, which is rediculous since they need a strong need to hold up the neck, While yours seems to have quite the sturdy, large neck, perfect for the head…

*finally i can post with out having to wait for admin approval! instant posts! w00t!

#52

SWEEET, soooooooooo SWEET, in fact, “dit is LAKKER”

I am a man of few words so i will get straight to my question

my question is what is the poly count???

#53

great model!!!
you are fast… i think it will be hard to do the texture at the end…
you’d better test the texture at the same time!!!

#54

Hi Versiden,

So will you apply a biped under the mesh? Are you using a Meshsmooth over the Physique(or Skin) or you just put it on a high detailed smooth model?

Nice workflow here:bounce:

#55

Tremoside - yup, I keep the low-res cage, and apply a meshsmooth right on top.

so my modifier stack looks like this atm:

  • meshmooth
  • symmetry (will fall away once modelling is done)
  • skin

atm, I’m placing bones/IK manually and adjusting evelopes - if there’s an easier way let me know ;//

choptider, texturing shouldn’t be a problem… will just take a while to unwrap everything.

RhyderKey - no clue ;;((

UL, thx dude… I’ll post a full monty when I can.

cheers

#56

Thanks! This is my way too although i have to attach separately rigged parts to my node figure.

#57

added the cerebral and spinal implants for the Brain.
Cerebral implant for the head still very WIP. Will need to add some more detail.
Body is close to finishing, hoping to finish the rig and uv mapping tomorrow.

thinking about clothing, I don’t want to really cover him up as I want him to be seen as really frail… thoughts?
I think I’m just going to cover him with a diaper.

#58

view from the back…

I know the heels don’t meet the floor ;p

#59

Ah, that is what i like to see. Updates

Loving it. Really nice man.

1 Question though. Those Bobbies sticking out from his head, that is stuck to a Metal cap on his kop?

It looks too… mmmmm how to put it. perfect. Maybe make them hang to the side, since cables will be coming from them, right?

so they will need to take some kind of stress. Will need some shocks :stuck_out_tongue:

Anywayz, thats just my input.

O btw … the heels arent touching the GROUND ::hmm: jp

#60

that loooooooks so cool,

i was just thinking have you thought about clothing??? also
for your big guy i was think that all that machinery that will be on hack would be kind of heavy, so maybe you would like to put in support beams, like through his upper body and you can have some bolts and nuts on his chest making it a bit more interesting.
