Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Martin Sen

Hi there,
going to give the classic Medusa a mechanical twist.
Very rough sketch, will refine it more before I start modelling.
not sure about the tenticle ends at the moment - looking a bit ‘matrixy’ or doc ockish ;p
what do u guys think?
changing my concept idea from what I had, something differen’t and fun…
only problem is creating 2 characters…effectively I have less than 2 months to submit the final image since I’m going on holiday in May.
comments and crits please!
Hey! this is a cool idea man
The little dude brain contrloling the fat one I like it. REaly original and fun. I can’t wait to see a first 3D wip of that thing. Keep going in that direction looks good ![]()
refining the body section, adding wrinkles and adding more detail.
Will come back to tweak this section more.
I like the idea much, did you watch mad max your concept is similar to the mastermind character in the film. theres just one tiny thing id like to criticize, i think you should improve the seat of the little guy it just looks to me too simple.
good luck and i hope you can finish it. im looking forward to see the final image.
greets
A.D.
hmm, I watched mad max a long time ago… now that I think of it there was a similar character.
Didn’t have it in mind when I started, so its not based on that movie.
ye, the seat is too simple in the sketch, but it just a rough idea to get things rolling. I figure if some1 is living there, it should have luxuries, like … radio/tv/speakers/leather seat etc.
should be fun ;p
Arms, right now just getting the basics in. Not looking too bad
Still need to fix the thumb a bit more.
heres my idea for the implants for the beast.
basically there will be a cerebral implant for the head, and well as the spine… so the beast’s entire nervous system will be controlled via this link.
the chair on top will be able to change angles, much like a lazy-boy sofa.
there’s an eject lever on the side - tho the sketch doesn’t show it too well.
Monitor in the center will provide entertainment, diagnostics and which ever else ;p
comments /crits thx
Whow your 3D skills are very good
The last concept sketch you have post is
a good 2D one.
i stay tuned to your work.

Master blaster of thunderdome indeed. Not the most original. But still a fun and wild concept, will be great to see finished.Nicely done.
started to add more detail to the back/spine for the implants.
I’m wondering since it’s at the back it’s not even going to be seen in the final render. This is painful work.
he he
real nice to see how you integrated te hardware into his back
