Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Krishnamurti M. Costa

#781

Great work man. Those tentacles on the head are perfect. So much better than that red hair.

Interesting to see how you are composing your shot too with the simple shape overlay. Quite effective by the looks of things.

Something about the background bugs me a bit though. Are there some hand painted elements to it? It looks forced somewhat… maybe some desaturation of the colours might set it back a bit.

I wish you the best when it comes to judgement day, but I doubt very much that you’ll need it.

Ok, I’m doing the final render tests, just to see if my machine will support the final resolution and GOOD NEWS!!! I’ll need just 2-3 passes for the entire thing
I optimized every element in the scene and have converted all my textures to the BOT format (block ordered textures). This is a great way to save RAM memory, because this is a cache system that uses only 250K fixed for each texture, avoiding that the entire texture is loaded to the memory. I also have deleted every element and polygons that will not appear in the scene. My actual scene has “only” 1.278.707 faces (without the background). So, I think today I can post some details of the pre-render at full resolution!!!
I’m so sorry that I have not much time to reply your GREAT entries in the latest days, fellows, but each minute is precious for me in this week. Sorry
I’ll finish the entire thing in 3-4 days only. So, stay tuned.

Grorum,
thanks!
