Good luck, soapy!

I went whole hog on the sketch! heheh Anyways, here is the basic premise, a monster lab / prothestic installation operating room type scene. Expect a few changes…

#4

good idea, i like this !

#5

I assume they will be wearing some sort of rubbersuits.

#6

Looks like its going to be bloody. Did you have any ideas what they are doing to him?

#7

Thanks guys. Yep I am going to build all new rubbersuits, new feet, hands, heads, etc as per the rules. I doubt they will be much like the old rubbersuit man. It is going to be pretty bloody the bottom third is going to be blood and gibs I am thinking. It doesnt show too well but he has gotten installed new poly-traction super grip feet and he is getting a new power pack. The surgeons will probably have body mods also.

#8

Well I managed to pound out my first head for this image. Anybody recognize this guy? He goes on the table in green. I am pretty happy , modeling is not my strong suit. It took 20 minutes to figure out how to turn on cel rendering, hahah.

#9

Kinda looks like the monster from the black lagoon to me. Cool head model. Looks like a clean mesh.

#10

Thanks and yes you got it 3d explorer, it is the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Well the best I could make him in one night. I had to come up with a different head for the patient, the drawing shows a sort of crocodile head, but I had started on a model like that a few weeks ago so cannot use it for this. I guess I had crocodile on the brain when I made drawing the other night.

It occurred to me that maybe I should make all the characters in this image classic figures from the heyday of Hollywood horror. Like Frankenstein, the Mummy, Wolfman etc involved in new bio-mech upgrades. When you start to age like they are, it doesnt hurt to install a few new parts, just to get an edge…

You should enter 3d explorer, I would love to see a fuzzy bio-mech soft-toy action scene!

#11

Looks like I need to brush up on my classic horror films heh heh (Creature).

#12

Looks like Teletubbies on acid :scream:

That’s what I thought the first time I saw it too!

Thanks for the kind comments. If anyone who doesnt know me wants to see what my particular brand of insanity is about, you can see my gallery at renderosity:

Cool idea, soapy! Is that wire with or without HN, by the way? It looks very dense, but maybe that’s how you model (I have very dense meshes myself).

That is with hypernurbs on, with the subdivision renderer set to 1. So that is four times as many polys as the box is, I guess. It is 346 polys but that is only half the polys since it is still in a symmetry object. I try to keep my polys down whenever possible, mostly cuz my little comp cant hack all the models I like to put in. The render was made with the cel render special effect in render options.

Please keep all your concepts/models totally original. Thanks!

Ok whatever, Creature goes out the window. I will change him around. Leigh please check in and let me know if what I do is ok. Thanks!

A new head for the scene. I am calling this contraption the ‘Cup of Knowledge’ for now. You throw stuff in it analyzes it you get data out. “Where is my mind?” Plus it has the handy dandy RCA board for routing info. Did I mention you can blend shakes with it also?

Gotta get a tangle of wires together and fix up the transition area.

Another head model for the image. It is a sort of frog fish tech implant mask. All the technology for the water breathing apparatus was in place but there was no underwater vision eyes hence the built in goggles. This unit filters nitrogen at depth to mitigate the effects of decompression sickness.
