no think to say
just go go go

#22

Looking very nice, i would love to keep him as a pet someday hehe Does he bite? :applause:

#23

Hey thanks fellers!

Detailed modeling is well on it’s way. I’m pretty excited actually. And trust me, he won’t bite because you won’t get that close to find out.

#24

love the 3d form this guy is taking on…can’t wait to see more…kinda a cute godzilla/robot thing going…but looking sweet!

#25

Cool idea. Love the final sketch (profile) image. Really looking forward to seeing more details in the 3D model as you progress.

The head reminds me a little of the screamapillar from the Simpsons. (Have you seen that episode)

ā€œWithout constant reassurance it will die. Sexually attracted to fire.ā€

Would look cool in a godzilla style city scene blasting away skyscrapers with it’s sonic boom vocal chords…

#26

More progress on the neck and shoulder area.

#27

Both smoothed and unsmoothed versions. More detail will come to these updated areas once I get this second pass of the whole model complete. (I don’t like to completely detail one area before I get everything else modeled)

#28

really nice clean model and 2d sandpiper … coming along wonderfully …

great reel on your site by the way … sharp stuff

#29

Working on getting some detail going in the mouth. Whale like teeth pattern and tongue shape. Everything is quite symmetrical right now with the model…once I get everything finished, I’ll collapse the mirroring and do some randomizing of the forms.

#30

thanks pigwater! I’ve actually seen some of your work here on the forum and think it’s really original. I love the presentation style.

And yeah, my modeling tends to stay pretty clean at first, but hopefully I’ll break out of my shell and get some randomization and additional visual interest by making it more realistically ā€œuncleanā€. I think textures would really help…once I get there.

#31

that’s what i like most about it … tight clean, sharp … it’s nice to see … funny yah , how were our own worst critics

enjoyable stuff ya got

#32

nice use of actual whale anatomy for your Wail!..very clever. looking forward to seeing the whole thing modeled…keep us posted on the little details…

#33

cool idea
Nothing much to crit so far…all looks good.
I love the idea of a walking whale…pretty original
Keept at it dude

#34

Looks good!
Keep going, I think that you’ve got a great start.
My suggestion is to make the tongue a bit thicker, with bumps on the sides…

#35

Just a quick update. Low quality render, but I wanted to show what I’ve been working on…I’m detailing out the front monitor area and getting all the intersections of the major componenets to line up now.

#36

thanks rhezz and tedjel. I appreciate your comments! Good crit on the tongue, too. Hope yall’s challenge is going well. I’ll visit soon.

#37

nice update, looks like the details are starting to come to light…keep goin, i wanna see one of those arms!!

#38

Beautiful face! I love the style!

#39

Great model… I like it… It seem sympathic… strange for a monster…

…Then, good continuation… and sure, I want to see more

#40

He’ll look more fierce once I complete the model and posing, plus the textures and lighting will help I think. Hopefully, that will lend itself to a less sympathetic creature. Thanks for the comments!
