I know I’m gonna get owned so bad, but I’m doing this for the practise, and to press myself to stop doodeling, and make some real stuff… Still, I have no idea what I’m going to make… Well, lots of ideas, none good ones :D…

Anyway, I wish you all the best, and look forward to seeing som really nice WIP in the weeks to come!!!

#3

This is the first “off-the-top-of-my-head” sketch of my somewhat enhanced scientist. I usually don’t do sketches because I suck at drawing, so this is more or less also just to get the “Concept Sketch” milestone out of the way… I will of course finish the sketch and upload that as well…

#4

I like the way his arm is sorta stiched to his real arm (If that makes sence)
The imperfections in the mechanical arm should make to look interesting in later stages

Keep up the good work

#5

Thanks for the reply m0bus!! I have an update on the sketch, which I’ll upload now…

#6

This is how my model looks so far… The arms on the back are supposed to help the scientist work. By this he now has a grapping claw-thing, a welder, and a blowtorch-thing (don’t know the english name for that little gas-flame you use to heat ex. fluids)… Tell me what u think…

I like your funny sketch.
But you have to take care about articulations arms.

When i see the right arm, i think it’s very dangerous to became scientist.

Good funny idea you had.

Hi DaVee

I’m glad you like the sketch… Though I’m having some problems understanding you comment: “But you have to take care about articulations arms”. I’m not quite sure what it means… Sorry… I have tried to look up “articulations” in my dictionary, but still can’t understand it… Please explain what you meant, because I really whant to make this good, so I need all the help I can get…

THX!!

#9

This is the head as it looks now. I got some changes in mind, but I thought I’d just upload this now…

Comments are welcome as always!!!

THX

#10

So I changed the ears, and gave him some fast textures (these are gonna be changed when i get to the Texturing part)… I’m going to change the nose, so don’t worry about that… Also I’m going to put in some buttons on the plate…

If anyone has any comments, or if you think I should change something, please post 'em!!

#11

Woaww Haha!
Funny head, i really like it.
I like the expression you give by glasses.

Funny work.

#12

… okay… no replies… Didn’t think it sucked that bad…

Well… Maybe the idea about the scientist isn’t very original, but I just finished a new sketch, which i might model…
:hmm:

Edit --> Ups sorry DaVee… I actually didn’t see your post!!

#13

So I tried out a new concept…

The future of 3rd part competition lies within frog-racing!! Who can build the fastest 50% mechanical, 50% living frog?? The race is trough a jungle filled with various hazards, and the frog might not make it out alive…

I chose the red eyed tree frog, because of its agility. To enhace its speed I have given it mechanical legs. Because the race takes place in very dense rainforest, I’ve given the frog enhanced vision and part x-ray vision.

Tell me what you think…

(PS. I know my drawing skills aren’t top-notch, but I hope you get the idea)

#14

LOL GO FROGGY GO!

haha glad to see someone is being a bit original here…too many of them damn terminators around (I know thats the theme of htis challenge but some of the ideas out there are just a Terminator with new guns and a new look…).

Anyways cool frog dude…not many comedical ideas in this challenge.

#15

Thank you for the reply Rhezz!!

I’m still not quite sure what i want to do, but I know I’m not gonna make a terminator

#16

Well…
I liked the scientist, but the mechanics frog feel good too.

#17

Jakob,

I would like to respectfully request that you do not go with the frog concept, as it is extremely similar to another entry in this contest that was actually posted a day before yours.

Please note that I am not accusing you of stealing any ideas, but it would be good sportsmanship to allow the artist who had the concept up first to continue with it.

Please feel free to contact me at leigh@cgnetworks.com if you wish to discuss this matter!

Judge knock on the door.

#19

Hehe, Hej Jacob, så er der jo nogen fra Danmark på siden, havde svært ved at finde nogen her fra mit Land :bounce:

#20

Well, I don’t think the scientist is that bad, maybe you just work him out on the detailelevel of the frog idea… seemed well thought.
Keep it up, I’ll keep watchin :wip:  :buttrock:
