Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Gary Pate
Hot diggity dam Ionized, here i thought you couldn’t top your previous renders but bugger me
bloody awesome mate really well done:applause:
could u render out another 1280 x 960?
really want that as a wall but the stretch makes it a bit pixelated and detracts from the image
It’s wipeout Ps3 xbox 2 right?It’s not too original,but it’s your rendition,and a real nice one.A top ten for this guy.Good stuff.:buttrock: ![]()
Sweet! I have to admit this is yet another thread that I haven’t had time to look into until now… But a great result it is! Very neat details, slick design on those vehicles, a well chosen color scheme, and above all a very dynamic and well balanced composition in the final image.
Great stuff!
Great final Ionized!
Well done, really like it!
Best of luck now mate!

Congrats Ionized , Nice piece you have here , you improved a lot the background thats fit perfect with the concept. Your images really rocks.
Turned out very nice gary…You pulled off another piece to be proud of I am sure, your reel is looking sweeter for it…I am happy to have been part of this challenge with you,as before, and look forward to another time, maybe the next one,we shall see if it fits,I wish you luck, and will see you soon I am sure…take care gary…:buttrock:
dude, great work man, the trails really fits in well, and can’t really say enough of your work. Congrats and best of luck dude!
Hi Gary !
I wanted to post earlier on your thread but you know…server was busy…
Anyway, though this is not extremely original, I love your picture.
I love futuristic races too.
The picture is really dynamic and that’s what matters.:buttrock:
(…and the designs are great)
Good luck !:bounce:
Cya !
I like this type futuristic scanes. I like the dynamics of your image! Good work and good luck:thumbsup:
I just have to say that I think yours will win the contest, it’s got purpose, anyone can tell you that this dude is modified to race this vehicle, and he is actually modified with machine parts like he is supposed to. Plus this image looks really really nice, and I’m sure that you will be the winner of the contest, heck, the stuff in that image could even happen in the future.
Hi Gary,
For first…I have to say, to create the illusion of velocity in a still…I think that’s one of the hardest. You made it! This is why this picture is impressing me.
No shiny blurs no smokey effects, but the speed is really showed. Congratulation!
Tremo
Hi all. I been looking around the forums at everyones final pieces… and WoW!!! We really have worked our asses off… so many great entries. It’s been so good having a weekend off though and I’m really glad it’s over but at the same time… it’s so sad… when will the next one be starting???
Lemog: Thanks man for your support throughout. At this rate, the game will be out oh… in 10 years time… =)
EmpY: There really isn’t much to it. Volume lights and distance fog are the main contributors to that look. A separate, un-textured GI pass also helps to define some of the more detailed areas. I’d be happy to share some tricks with you later on;)
DimitrisLiatsos: Your a legend dude and dare I say it… <<<NUTS!!!>>>
Mathiu: Sure, no worries… I will post up a bigger render soon!
Natethor: Yes, I admit, it is a wipeout rip off… but they are such cool games, I couldn’t help myself!!
JamesMK: Thats ok, cos I overlooked your thread for quite a while… great stuff… I love the bunny ears and the lighting!!
mikepol |3D|: Thank you sir… best of luck to us all… we deserve it…
adr: Thanks mate. The background took ages to get right, but I’m glad I persisted as the end result is pleasing. Environmnets are soooo hard!*!&@!
Virtuoso: My friend… there are bits of you in this piece. Your objectivity and support really helped my finish on time. Your such an awesome guy with all the time in the world to help other people… that means a lot. And yes… we will ride again in another challenge, thats for sure.
Ravendsg: Yeah, the trails I am happy with. They were done afterwards in Photoshop and the result is better than I could have hoped for.
Deadly Force: Yes, I am a bit sci-fi fan and was inspired by an earlier concept I had done to create this racer. Not much of my work is original but then again, I’m just not that type of artist. I suppose the originality came through in the design of the bike more than anything else. On the other hand, your final work is superb in every way, especially in creativity. Well done yourself!!
newone: Yes, dynamic sci-fi design is what I really like. There is a lot of it around at the moment in concepts and 3d… so much inspiration to draw from. I’m happy that you like it =)
darthviper107: There are so many great entries, it is hard to know what the judges will be looking for. I’m just glad to have crossed the line with something that I am happy with. Anything else is a bonus, but thanks for your confidence!!
Tremoside: Thanks mate for your support throughout the development of the piece. It’s great to have talented artists like yourself giving thoughts and criticism when its needed. Yes, I am pleased with the sense of motion I have achieved. I’ve been on a creative high since I finished it, it’s great =)
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone… definately the best challenge yet. The quality of work just keeps getting better and better and everyones enthusiasm never seems to wane.
Pitting yourself against some of the best cg artists out there is a huge honour and certainly makes you look at your own work in a different way. But you guys already know all that… its been wicked fun…
Damn, I’m actually searching the “buy now” button for this game… Then… I’m waiting
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh… the horor… I would be too old in 10 years :buttrock:
just visited your thread for the first time, nice work man!
Like Lemog said, this would be a cool racing game…waiting for it…
