Well Now Im happy with the electric field thats close up. but the one further away looks strange. I guess this time Ill have to use a seperate effect for each. Pitty since they looked cooler before.
Ive also added a laser from the one bug that is cuting away the living cell.
Yeah looks great pity about the original electric field, I like the lazer as well maybe have quite a few lazer coming from all directions. Looking at your picture it looks unoriginal… ooops sorry wrong thread. Ha ha Looks great I still like the claw creature the most, are you finished with the background cause maybe it needs a bit more contrast so that your foregroung stand out more but other than that I like the layout and color.

Took Dirks Advice and darkened the background I think it looks better.
Need to play a bit but Im almost finished.
Well its finally finished.
Sure I could have easilly fiddled with it for another month or so but the deadline is here so Ive had to stop fiddling and finish it.
I have to say I have had great fun doing this and I hope everyone else did aswell.

Nano Virus
With the advent of Nano technology and the increased use of mechanical replacements for human limbs and organs, the human race was once again able to move on unopposed by anything nature could throw at it.
These mechanical grafts and Nano cures and operations where not only for restorative medical uses but where also used for cosmetics, commerce and military.
Nano-Bots where given a limited AI in order for them to navigate through the body and perform their tasks. They where also produced with the ability to repair themselves and in some cases even the ability to reproduce or salvage other Nano-Bots.
It was only a matter of time before something went wrong.
Whether it was military technology leaking into the mainstream population, an experiment gone wrong or the AI of the Nano-Bots adapting no one knows. All that is known is that Nano-Bots started replicating themselves and changing their designs to become more efficient this was still within the norm as the Bots that could replicate where designed to make themselves as efficient as possible. However some Nano-Bots started changing their protocols and tasks. These bots then started to attack any other Nano-Bots in the system then they would start attaching the host itself. Grafting themselves to organic matter until they had destroyed it all or brought the organism under the control of the AI.
Thousands died or became zombiefied husks that where the home to millions of Nano-Bots. This plague was devastating. The Nano-Virus was like a mixture between a biological Virus and the computer viruses that threatened the machines of old. Once infected the Nano-Virus would replicate, attacking all other Nano-Tech and taking over any mechanical replacements on the host. Once all mechanical systems are under control of the AI the Nano-Virus turns its attention to the organic parts of the host.
Attempts at creating stronger more structured Nano-Bots with stricter rules, designed to destroy the Nano-Virus have had some success but critics say that this practice has only made the Virus stronger as the new technology is absorbed by the Virus.
Whatever the cure ends up being, if we can find one. One thing is certain Humanity has met its newest threat! The irony that it was Humanities creation and the means to surpassing the last big threat that we faced

Yeah there are a growing number of very good CG Artists in SA.
I think with more competitions like this I’ll be able to hone my skills and improve.
These competitions are great as you get feedback from other artists etc. Ive loved every min of it.

It’s good to observe how the skills are developing and a community is evolving. Just as you Emrys I’m also glad about this contest because of the same reasons. It’s a global community but our roots are respected, no matter if we are from SA, Hungary, Brazil, Mexico…or all the others!
