Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Derek Marsh

#16

Thanks JamesMK. Yeah, that six pack needs to besoftened out a lot.

I have some good references to model with, so no worries there. Just trying to bang away at this. Bodies are friggin difficult to model. Harder than I thought it would be.

True’dat! No bout a doubt it

Smoothed out the abs some and tweaked the leags and upper torso. Need to smooth out the arms and then start on the head.

hey, is going nice, wish u luck with the rest of modeling mate, for your first human complete youre doing really fine, dont give up with it, nice concept too, keep on the hard work man:thumbsup:

#20

You’re doing great so far, mate!

Just have another look at those knees though…

Upper body looks great.

#21

rattlesnake: Thanks! I appreciate it.

JamesMK: Yeah, the knees have been bugging me. I will get those sorted out soon. I have started the head model, so I will finish that off before I tweak the body anymore.

Updates later today. Hopefully.

Cool modeling already mate!

note: what about making the celiacs out of metal  !

Keep stuff coming!

#23

Start of head modelling. Not much yet, but I figured I would show you all something to crit the hell out of.

Good start on the head!
I thinkthe chin is a bit slim but maybe that’s just me!

Keep us updated!

#25

mikepol |3D|: Thanks man. The chin may be a little slim, but that is easy to fix. Once I get the jawline done, I will tweak it out a bit.

Hmm… the only crits I could come up with are merely a matter of taste, so I wouldn’t listen to me myself even

Nice clean mesh, just go go go! :wip:

#27

JamesMK: LOL> I know what you mean. Sometimes after I model something, I look at it and say to myself, “man, that just doesn’t look like I thought it would…” Then I just stick with it and it all works out fine in the end.

This guy is somewhat stylized, for sure. But still fairly realistic at the same time, I hope. That’s what I like and it seems to be becoming a style of mine in the organic stuff.

Not sure if I will get an update today. On the road for work, so pobably no time.

Wow!
I’m late!
Nice work so far, can’t wait to see more!

(and I know what it means work+Blender+child+wife+life…)

Slight update. I hate modelling heads.

Widened the head some, so I think it doesn’t look so thin.

More to come.

Haven’t been working on this much lately due to having too much actual work to do. Oh well. Back at it though.

Start of mechanics in the back of the head. Lots of detail to come yet.

Looks promising. I know what you mean about heads… I must have started and scrapped at least three heads for my miner the last few days… damn annoying things

I’m honestly not too fond of his chin, it appears a bit exaggerated… but then again that is only a matter of personal taste…

Nice to see an update - I’m watching… [insert evil, borderline insane, laughter]

#32

Yo, Derek - time for an update soon, eh? C’mon!

#33

Hey James!

Unfortunately, due to work requirements, I am going to have to pass on completing this challenge. I have been away for all last week and I am leaving again Frdiay for another week. So too much other stuff on the go.

I will be back though. Just not for this one.

Thanks to everyone who peeked in and had something to say though. I appreciate it.

Aw, too bad - but then again, work is a good thing too. Hopefully I’ll see you in the next challenge
