Whee! First ever challenge on this site. Going to be lots of fun.

Time to get some sketching done and think up some ideas.

Good luck everyone.

Hey ho, Derek!

Really great to see you here, man - you’re like dude #3 I see from “the other place” now… sonix and YAYA have already blown in from what I’ve seen.

Best of luck to you!

#4

Hi James! Yep, over from that “otherplace”. Gonna be fun doing this along side my F1 entry too.

Good luck to you!

OK, so here is what I have for an idea:

A futuristic prison cell that contains the prisoner. The prisoners will have there hands and feet removed for connections to high strength alloy bone clamps that are directly attached to the bones of the legs and fore arms for containment along with hooks into the flesh for added grip.

Eyes will be held open via lid clamps that are attached to head gear that also serves as a port that is direct connected to the brain for shock treatments and for mental punishment.

Lots of tubes connecting to the body for food, waste removal (:stuck_out_tongue: ) and such.

Time to get sketching. Hopefully will have a concept up over the weekend.

Sounds like a sweetly nasty idea, man. I’ll be watching yo’ass

#6

hey good luck to you guys.

#7

Here is my concept sketch. Very rough, cause my drawing skills are pretty lacking. BUt I think you get the idea from this.

Time to start some modelling.

Ah, a neat suspension contraption going there… And I see yet another groin adapter (dang, I should have a patent pending somwhere  Just KIDDING…)

Side note: You might want to use the official submission system on the challenge pages @ http://www.cgnetworks.com/challenge/machineflesh/submit_entry.php for everything including concepts… Otherwise you’re in trouble!

#9

A futuristic prison cell. Hands and feet will be cut off and attached to bone and skin clamps and head gear that will control brain wave functions. FGood and waste tubes attached to keep them alive.

#10

Hey James. I just did that. Didn’t think it would automatically post it here. So it’s up again. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeap, there ya go

Starting of my human character. This is my first ever attempt at a complete human body, so don’t be too harsh on me.

I need to soften some areas up and add some details to the legs and arms. I think this is not too bad for my first body attempt though.

#13

Hi,

For a first human body, it’s a really good start.
Don’t you think that knees are al little too low?

… without feet it’s difficult to judge.

:wavey:

#14

Thanks DaVee.

If you look at my concept, there will be no feet anyway, so it may look like the knees are a little low. SHould look better once I add the bone clamps to the legs.

Thanks for the comment.

Good start it is.

Like you say, some softening needed (the sixpack in particular) and some other tweaks - but just hang in there and it will be great soon enough.

Make sure you get some good reference images - personally I find it almost impossible to get the correct proportions without reference.

Great to see you’ve started to churn out some mesh!

#16

Thanks JamesMK. Yeah, that six pack needs to besoftened out a lot.

I have some good references to model with, so no worries there. Just trying to bang away at this. Bodies are friggin difficult to model. Harder than I thought it would be.

True’dat! No bout a doubt it

Smoothed out the abs some and tweaked the leags and upper torso. Need to smooth out the arms and then start on the head.
