Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: dave davidson

Wow DD! Really moving along nicely! I agree that when youve finalised the model, you move the legs as tho they are mid-movement.

Do you have an idea about an environment? They look like they are ‘specialised’ to work in a microsurgery area, so maybe some sort of skin graphting, or plastic surgery?

Im sure that you will surprise us with your final composition!

#42

just started on the modelling of the bg for the mite
not really nailed down any textures yet
more to come

#43

Seriously nice work, I think you have a really good thing going here. Good luck with it.

#44

I like it very much, and you can go wild with
the “enviroment”. Only, I think you should
model a bug more (more gadgets on the creatures shell).
Just a thought.
Anyways, great stuff, and looking for more!

#45

Nice!!! Empy actually has a nice idea-but maybe you could make the mites skin slightly transparent, and have the robotic bits showing through the skin…

#46

small update
trying a few things out

#47

nice update, is looking really good and the composition is great

#48

Keep it up!

then i shall add more little details etc
more to come

#50

testing the lighting now to try and get a more dramatic feel to the picture
also messing with other elements to try and pull the whole picture together

#51

Wow DD. thats a HUGE improvement!

I think that you are on you way 2 completing a fantastic image. Some small thoughts:

What about adding in some volumetric effects to the beams of those lights.

The body is blending in a little 2 much with the background. Perhaps the background could go down a few shades to make it stand out more.

You dont want that grey to become to overpowering. I think that the grey needs 2 be brocken up …even if its just subtle variations.

Excellent stuff mate! Keep it up!

#52

small update

#54

Good news to see updates !!
i prefered the render with pink material you had done with fog in the back ground.
Because we could ssen more transparencies in the skin material of the creature. And the render of the pink skin with pieces and parts of skin on the surfaces was more microscopic like picture.

#55

another update
i think this one is getting closer now

#56

testing textures and how they work with the lighting and the feel of the scene

#57

or a slightly more contrast and darker version ?
