Good news to see updates !!
i prefered the render with pink material you had done with fog in the back ground.
Because we could ssen more transparencies in the skin material of the creature. And the render of the pink skin with pieces and parts of skin on the surfaces was more microscopic like picture.

another update
i think this one is getting closer now

#56

testing textures and how they work with the lighting and the feel of the scene

#57

or a slightly more contrast and darker version ?

Looking very nice. I like the background objects now, the blur is giving it a better sense of depth and scale.

Is this in liquid? or on the surface of a skin?

If its immersed in liquid, would be cool to have floaties and stuff floating past the camera.

#63

It really looks good dd, ilike its skin a lot

#64

wow… great…creepy too…

#65

thanks for the replies guys
i will be doing more tests this week and maybe i will be even closer to finishing it

#66

Hey my man,I really like this one…looks so functional…like some piece of nano-teK we might see in the near future…I always love a model (idea) that looks like someone physicaly built it…that’s what were all striving for in our ideas I think we all want that realism right…you’ve captured it nicly with this one…

DD! Niiiiiice stuff man…

I prefer the more contrasted one personally, but i think that both could work very well.

The only thing that really ‘stands out’ to me is the lack of shadows under the feet…now i know that they are there-but maybe they could be quite a bit darker—i think that it owuld really show that this little dude is part of the envronment.

That said, your background is looking awsome. Really pushes the character forward.

Excellent work matey! Carry on!

Hi there,

Jus entered the challenge (late in the day) and I noticed your entry after a search on nano. This is something similar to what I thought of as one of my concepts (now off the list of course  ) and wanted to drop a line to say that I like what your doing.

Will watch this thread with interest.

Cheers

#69

trying different feels to the rendering and also moved the camera over so the mite is more in the center

#70

slightly darker shadows under the mite to help try to ground him

#71

thought i would try b/w to see wat feel i get

#72

I like the 6-7-04 at 5:16 drawing the best. Very nice concept and it’s really looking good.

One thing I might add. The mite has a laser attached for cutting? I presume. It doesn’t seem to be used anyplace. I think one of the mites in the background cutting away with one might look really cool. And maybe have the tip lit up like this main one is getting ready to cut? Or something like that.

Good Luck!
