This is one of the four different versions of this character. Here MechLiz at 17, 800 polys took me about 3-4 days. I’m waiting to get Z-Brush so I can start texturing. It might be a while.:frowning:

took me some extra yesterday on the 30th. I’m now finalizing a lower poly version of himand I’ll have his textures done as well. please give me critiques!

This is the back of the higher res version. Basically this shows how he trully functions. Once ignited by an electric spark into both of his ankles. An electric current drives thru his mechanics and its how he fully works. He can manipulate the electricity into waves for ultra sound hearing from his satelitte ears. Also he can charge up a shot and shoot electicity. On top of that the tubes are for soft bodies that surge almost a green, slimy magma type liquid that he can spew at when unsuspecting victims are up and about.

This is my first decent texture. Even though it’s my second character texture. Its three 1024’s so its got some detail. I need some help though converting from my stylized/cartoony texture ability to more phot0-realistic. Any hints? Hopefully by the time the higher res. model is ready I will have gotten some other professional artists advice to help make my character more real. Thank you to anyone with open suggestions.

Here is my layout scheme. Three 1024’s all by mouse. Question though. Is this decent UV layout or is it simply too much? What would someone in the industry do to make this more professional?? Imagine someone responding. ( HAHA ) :wip: Here this guy willl beat his mallet until someone responds. Honestly I expect no responses and unfortunately this poor smiley faced sphere will get carpul tunnel syndrome just like I’m developing as I use a freakin mouse to do textures.

It looks like you are shooting for a toy-style texture. You also have a unique and interesting model. Maybe less texture detail will show it off more?

There is a difference between line sketch and modelling (of course this never happens to me, haha) The wing originates from different locations, maybe on purpose…

for UV maps, I am not quit proficient enough to offer you any advice other than look at other people’s UV map on web to see what works for them.

Overall, your project looks like time well spent, good luck!
