Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Brian Cole

#60

looking really good.

my composition $0.02:
like A, but zoomed in much closer, so you’re right next to the tv, which is putting out all these nice diagonal rays of light…

#61

chrislomake and JamesMK your 2 cents/EUR are much appreciated…if I could only get more I’d buy my own Boxx…

I’ll move on for now and post progress, but I’m sure I’ll revisit the composition later (as in tomorrow?)…

:bounce:

#62

This will be as far as I need to go for unwrapping anything - I just need to add some minor details, but overall the image will still be cartooney looking…

#63

I am not known for the best compostion decisions but I figured I would chime in.

I think C would be the best option…Just make sure you get the fridge close enough to the chair so it that he can reach his beverages…I would also recommend that you keep your dude’s face looking at the screen as if he is meZmorized by what he is watching.

I love the concept…see u at the finsh line

#64

that last post ended up being fairly worthless, decided to spend more time trying to learn uv unwrapping since i’ve never done it before…i’m a newbie i know…

#65

final unwrap…the legs and arms will be a solid color, so no reason to completely unwrap them - thus the reason for the face and the chest to receive so much attention…either way i’m still new at this, so if anybody has any suggestions, I’m still willing to take them

#66

materials on the belly buttons!

numbers are backwards because the big guy can’t see them anyway…in case he loses his memory he can grab a mirror and be able to read the numbers…

#67

The unwrap process is nice, im glad that you find some time to explore deeper in the textures. The belly buttons are great and fun . nice concept man I can imagine your guy with the mirror trying to look the buttons , hehe.

Keep rockin man

Sry about my english

#68

closeup of the function of the buttons—he has to have tivo, right?

#69

Yes Brian, give him Tivo, this guy deserves it… …Nice, and here is to finishing this up as it deserves…

#70

this was an old image, meant to submit it as a lighting milestone…

#71

compromised between composition a and c …this is the final composition with the beginning of lighting…

#72

more lighting development

#73

lightened up the background a bit, but not too much that it competes with fattie mcgee over there…

#74

low quality version of the pre rendering of the final image…added entourage and made sure to get his hair in there…let’s just hope the final renders out in enough time for me to do some post work…

#75

Good choice on composition and framing there… lights look promising, and great details on the fridge door! Keep going now! No rest for the wicked!

#76

this just rendered…i may go back and fix some details before the post effects…

#77

color correction…

#78

heheh funny and unique idea man! hehe really nice use of the human body And loved those fridge door pictures man hehe

#79

after color correction I added some light from the tv, increased its brightness…also added glow to the refrigerator and notes on the post-its (see in final image coming soon)…
