After consulting a few people this is the main idea I have, i’m still not sure about it so please tell me if you like it or not. Here is my guys story, concept art to come soon:

Year: 2165 or some random year in the future

Basically its a Native American with Artificial implants to increase strength and appear more animal like. (i’m going to avoid the slang Indians for fear of offending someone) I figured since in the old days native americans would wear animal skins and such, and would have badass names like “crazy horse” and stuff, they in the future they might try to get implants to appear even more animal like. Maybe having implants in their legs to make them look more like a horses, and be able to run faster. Maybe have horn implants to gore people like a buffolo etc…

I was almost debating against this idea for a while, because the idea of technological implants in someones body is very ‘un-natural’ and Native americans are a very ‘nature’ oriented people. But i figure i can cover up this loophole in the story by having 1 of 2 story twists. One of them might be is the person who i model might be a Teenager, and since teens are into crazy fads, and some all the sudden decide to embrace their heritage, might take it a step further than their ancestors and get implants to be more like an animal. This would allow me to go kinda crazy with ‘war paint’ and stuff. And it would also allow me to take some liberties with the costume and make it more ‘trendy’. (along with feathers hanging from a shield, maybe glowsticks too  )

One other thing i might add to the story is perhaps all the tribes are tired of corporations and industry pulluting their land and they decide to revolt and engage in gurrilla combat against them. Slowly taking back their land and embracing their own heritage with a technological twist (they embraced rifles, so maybe they’ll embrace implants).

What does everyone think about this??? Good?? Bad??? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The idea works well for a character design I think!

The rebelling teenager scenario could work out in a still image, presented the right way it could be very very good. I wouldn’t want to see a movie based on it though, but it is more than sufficient for a still.

The guerilla thing feels quite logical in a wider perspective, some sort of cyberpunk natives payback… I like that a lot actually! Oh yeap, makes lots of images appear before my inner eye… Cruise around that thought for a while longer, and I think you will be well prepared to start concept sketching.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply james  Tomorrow i’ll start sketching out some ideas, and hopefully i’ll scan them in tomorrow night

Well this is screaming eagle. He’s a badass. Heres a little story (more detail in the thread). The native americans of the USA have finally had enough, corporations are spewing pollutants into the rivers, and the sky, everyone is killing everyone else, and they are tired of living on the desolate reservations. They decide to revolt, and so an internal civil war errupts in the US where various native american tribes assult huge corporations using gurilla tactics. Corporations fight back by hiring mercenaries, and eventually the Gov gets involved on the side of the corporations. The native americans realize they were going to lose, so like before when they adopted rifles when the ‘white man’ came over, they have adopted implants as well. These implants help them become more animal like, and increase their fighting ability. Some even allow them to communicate with the animals. Screaming eagle is a warrior to the end.

Here is kind of what the back will look like, and a close up of the gun.

The jetpack implant sounds like a promising idea.

Awaiting updates…

#10

Thanks for the reply james, i’m hoping the jetpack will look a lot more technical when its modeled

hey man… (lol us BB are like a little family here ;))… looking good, I had no idea you were this advanced in 3d, some of the stuff i’ve seen wasnt on this level. Good luck!

#15

Hey riddler i didn’t know you had a CGtalk account

Thanks for the compliment, i’m kinda at the point where i have the knowledge to make a decent character, i just haven’t yet. So this is my attempt at making one  The only thing that might take me a while is rigging, hehe, thats going to be hard  its my first rig!

#16

Well i worked on the hands and i tweaked the muscles and stuff a lot. Comments and critiques welcome

Neato update! Seems to be coming along fine me thinksssss… you might want to watch the overall shape of the arms; appears a bit conical - perhaps try to beef up the lower arm muscles (while maintaining the current diameter of the elbow area… should work well I think) - -

…::::keep it coming:::::…

EDIT: Actually, shrinking/emphasizing the elbow area a bit wouldn’t hurt. One day soon I’ll be able to say something without having to correct myself afterwards

Started modeling the jetpack and the hands, i’m going to form the flesh on the back to flow around the jetpack. Thanks for the reply james, i’ll try tweaking the arms for the next update.

I started molding the flesh around the jetpacks, i’m thinking about remodeling some of the jetpack stuff because right now its not very detailed. Some critiques would be really helpful, if anyone wants to critique i would love it  Thanks again!

I can’t believe no one has post a comment to this model before, It’s getting really nice!:applause:

And, yeah, I think you should work a bit more in roquet’s details… Also the hand is a little rough…

Keep on!
