Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Angel Nieves

#41

Hey you concept is coming along nicely. Keep up the work.

Hey SNoWs,

This fluent and elegant style of your work looks good. Flags and wings are dynamic, althought they’re still don’t moved for pose up. These are just words but the girl is like real.

Keep it up buddy:beer:

Hey thanks guys! the feedback is appreciated:thumbsup:

I’m still thinking on a composition for the final render. I am researching some graphics for the Purist’s coat of arms which I’ll put on the flags. I’ll post it to get some feedback soon.

#44

I rebuilt the flag from scratch to get better and cleaner UV’s, also came up with this flag design for the Purists and here is a pic of the textured flag.

#45

looking nice, man. i like how the emblem came out.

#46

I agree,I want that tattood on my arm.

#47

here is the model so far.

Added some small details like a gold border on the metal plates, a neck piece and a metal plate above the left breast. This metal plate is to show military rank and medals awarded by the Purist Council. I just came up with that idea and liked the result; what do you guys think?

I still need to model the arms, the weapon she’s going to carry and other small details for the wings.

#48

on sunday afternoon I got inspired and did a quick sketch for the arm. Don’t have scanner accsess right at this second but I’ll scan it in when I get home, anyways, I modeled it today and here is how it turned out thus far.

#49

time to nail down the background. I want to to a mountain scape with maybe a temple looking structure on top of a mountain. I’m still debating weather to do a landscape or a portrait format.

#50

Nice work

I love the wings and the arms. :applause:

Don’t you have any render?

#51

This is looking nice.

One thing that bothers me though, and I just noticed it, is that her wings come ou of her shoulders.

Maybe it would look better with them coming from her back. But that is only my opinion.

Keep up the work.

#52

thanks for the comments guys

@JR.BRAZ: I started texturing and I’ll post a pic of the vest soon:thumbsup:

@oxyge3n: man, I wanted to do something different for the wings and not the cliche wings on the back. I don’t think I’ll be changing the wings from the shoulders but I am considering removing the feathers from the lower arm which will cover up the legs when I pose her and I don’t really want to do that. What do you think?

#53

here is a texture test render of the vest.

#54

I like the feathers on the forearm. If you chose the right pose you wont need to cover up her legs. But do you already have a pose picked out?

kinda, sorta

actually it’s not too far from the model pose… it isn’t going to be an action pose but a rest pose. Have you seen the bird model?
I am going to pose her with the left arm bent and she will be looking at the bird which is going to be sitting on her hand…

as soon as I finish the hands I’ll start experimenting with poses and see what works best.

#56

Ok, I know what you are doing now…

Um you could have one hand on her hip, while the bird is on the other or, maybe she could even be caressing the back of the birds head. I remember how much my parakeets liked that when I was a kid.

Just thought of this, maybe when she is standing at a resting pose the feathers on her forearm lay flat against her arms, like when a bird folds up its feathers.

#57

First Lighting test. Need to fine tune it, the skin turned out too washed out.

#58

Since I lost a whole page worth of stuff and replies I’m trying to find what I can to re post 'em… there isn’t much I have been able to recover…

#59

I hope this is ok to do…

Here are the direct links to the missing WIP images of the thread after the attack. Just in case you would like to see them since they are still available through the CGNetworks site.
