Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Angel Nieves
since I’ll be out of town for a while I had to have this 99% finished by tonight if I wanted to be done by the actual deadline. Well here it is. I’m wondering if I should add some dust particles floating in the air.
as always C&C are welcomed.
I’ll be back just on time to upload the hi-res 8)
It’s looking great! i really like it.
Keep it up for that one percent left.
I say go with particles. I think it might give it that final touch it is missing. If worse comes to worse, just take them out.
Looking nice.
I think though that you should make the pose a little more dynamic.
Maybe have her shift her weight to one hip, at the moment she looks to stiff.
hi all! just got back from vacation with a little time to finish my piece.
@oxyg3n the weight is shifted but not a whole lot. I guess the camera angle makes it less obvious but I’ll try to exagerate it and see if that helps.
I haven’t played with the particles yet but I do want to put them in.
thanks for the suggestion and support guys.
Here I shifted the weight a little more to make it more obvious and achieveing a more relaxed pose.
Notice the pelvis and the shoulders; specially the shoulders where the shift is more visible.
What do you all think? is it better?
Hello Snows,
I think that you can push it even more. The change is minor and I dont think that it reads very well.
Try shifting her weight to her right hip and bring it down a tad so that it make the left leg bend. Also, I would bring her left leg forward a little to see if that helps exaggerate it.
hummm that’s exactly what I did but I still think is the camera angle. If I exagerate it even further the model will distort in a very cartoony way. Let me post a front ortho so you can see what I mean…
here is the frontal ortho showing the weight shift.
I’ll try to exagerate it even further but I think the model will distor too much…
ok, I went a bit further before the leg goes a bit wonky. I think she looks more relaxed than the original; what do you all think? Need to get this rendered ASAP!
Since I think the camera angle wasn’t helping showing the weight shift I came up with a slightly different angle to help a bit. I moved the camera so it is a bit more frontal than before.
Oh you did do exactly what i was saying. I think your camera angle just wasnt flattering enough.
I like the new one muchc better. I likes the front view too, just because the gesture of the body was really nice.
Try to push it as far as you can take the rig. I think it is going in the right direction.
cool!
I’m rendering the new camera angle now, then the feathers and start comping again!
I’ll post an update tonight.
I will be looking forward to your update.
Also, I am interested now in how you did your feathers.
Well, I’m happy to say that this is it for my entry… it’s finished!!!
I added a couple of ribbons to the weapon she’s holding which were on the original sketch also I added dust particles but the jpg compression got rid of them. I’ll post some detail shots soon.
Thanks everybody for the support!
@oxyg3n: are you talking about the head feathers or the wing feathers?
Angel…This turned out very nice.very nice final image, you came up with a piece of work to be proud of.Congrats to you,two thumbs up from me…
