Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: AJ Jefferies

#21

Bah! You all like the hamster! :surprised :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m afraid that he’s going to have to sit on the shelf for this one. Sorry. (Hairy things are a pain in the arse when you don’t have the plugins!), but here’s one of my other doodles of him for those who will miss his presence in this thread…

fellah - as always your critique and advice is spot on. I am incorporating nearly everything you’ve suggested! I’m sorry the sketch is a little dull/devoid of detail but I was so sick of looking at it that I just couldn’t be arsed to add any more. My new design has him with a ā€˜chimney hat’ and a ā€˜stove stomach’, (I still need to think about his leg & gun/arm more). I might just get started with the model and see how it develops from there.

#22

cant wait to see this all rendered up
i too had a hamster idea but dropped it due to the fur/hair and the probs it would cause me during rendering

i also like the cowboy but the hamster is way better

#23

Hamster’s got some potential, fun for a while. But the dude has more depth by a long shot.Stomach stove is a first.

#24

:wavey:

It’s very nice, your hamster.
But I’ve never seen a hamster with a tail like this!

It’s to long!!!

#25

Aha - the tail is an exhaust pipe… although I admit that it’s not very clear

Welcome to Cgtalk btw

#26

I’m sorry, but it wasn’t really clear for me!

Thanks to welcome me

:bounce:

hey AJ23…Those are some great suggestions by fellah…He knows his stuff that bastard…

I was thinking you can create some extra arms.....machine arms, arms made special for quick draws.......Possibly hidden under the coat,an extra pair, bot type parts etc,etc...and when needed they pop out as fast as Clint's in the Good bad and ugly......;)

Anyways cool potential,I think it will be great to see come to life in 3D.......

#28

Freakin awesome…love the future cowboy theme. :buttrock:

#29

Cool cowboy!
Great concept! I really waiting to see this one in 3D!

I am just thinking of it right now!
Sephia tones in an empty dirt road with shrubs moving around and the camera looking throughout open legs if you know what I mean!

#30

UPDATE!!!

#33

Update? Bah!

There is precious little time to model when ceilings need painting, the sink leaks and there’s no carpet…

Gosh owning property is exciting isn’t it…?

ISN’T IT!

#35

Nothing too exciting (or indeed machinefleshy), but due to harassment and a miniscule amount of free time - here’s my start on the Cowboy’s head.

From Concept to modelling in just 1 short month! ahem Sorry.

He needs a lot more work, namely much more wrinkled/haggered skin, more detailed features/eyes and the bushy moustache of a man of Justice.

Since this is quite a ā€œHere’s my model!ā€ posts, I’ll printscreen some of the steps to keep in with the WIP guidelines of the challenge.

Anyway, for those who like wires, there’s one here:

Yee-ha!

Nice start AJ, nice to someone starting with a sphere for once, your initial loops are exactly the same as when I start a head…

Great character in the face!
