M@, fellah, Ila Thankyou all! I hope I won’t dissapoint (especially the finishing part Anders  ) as I none of you guys have ever done so to me.

Concept number one, by no means the only one but the easiest to put down. Forgive me as I am quite ill at the moment and I’m not even sure I’ll remember doing this tomorrow…

Anyway:

More to come (he says…)

ignore - I am an idiot

I can see it now: Gyrbils! “New ‘concept pet’ from Japan is sweeping the country … and causing horrendous problems in the process.”

“They can get up quite a head of steam, an’ then they can lit’rally start bouncin’ off a the walls.”

im off to ladbrokes, see if they’ll give odds on you finishing it

#14

Okay, I worked on some ideas today but given the three month deadline I decided to go for something a little more complicated than usual. Which - given that I can barely finish a challenge when my idea is a spoon in a cape - doesn’t bode well.

Anyway, the concept isn’t fully fleshed out but I’ve spent far to much time drawing this (made doubly difficult by using a Wacom instead of a pencil) and of course there’s aspects missing.

I envision a gruff old cow boy with a rifle for an arm and steam driven appendages, the complexity of which will depend on the time/enthusiasm I have.

C&C are an essential requirement of viewing this thread…

Nooooo! I want the hamster!

Bastard!

#16

Very nice AJ…I look forward to seeing this come into the 3D World.I say you go for full on complexity…It will be well worth it.Very promising creation.go for it ,and go for it hard.Have fun.

#17

I vote for the hamster too !

#18

nice idea! but it has so much more possibilities. I think you should try to come up with a few more crazy ideas(which should be easy with such a crazy brain as yours  )

you said he was a little steam driven… maybe a big “oven” in his stomach(where you put all the wood) and… a “steam pipe” in his… euh… ears… maybe put the “steam clock”(darn… so many strange english words I dont know…) at the place of his heart…
and I think you should exaggerate a few parts to make him more interesting… the hat for example… very big, small… or just high?
maybe a really big gun, or… very small. his gun can tell us more about his personality… maybe a water gun? nah… to easy… but maybe something else… shoot… euh… whiskey maybe! ) maybe a horse leg, or something even crazier…?
just try to incorporate something more interesting to him and it will be killer!!
