My policy is compliments first, suggestions later, so:
I like the presence of the heavy-handed combination of flesh and steel in your concept. While the work of artists (such as H.R Giger) who make the boundry between biological and mechanical virtualy indistiguishable has its own appeal, the juxtoposition of contrasting materials (skin & metal) in your work is great, and can be alot of fun to draw.
When I first saw the beast with only the head rendered, I thought it was alot larger that I now realise it is. What created this impression is this: I thought that the device on top of its head was an open hatch through which soldiers could enter the cavity in its head which acted as a ‘cockpit’. In other words I thought the beast was a biological tank.
While this suggestion is probably much too late, I think that my first impression of the concept has a bit more originality, and opens up some really cool posibilities ( eg. the beasts eyes replaced by, or augmented with technology which relay info onto a viewscreen in the cockpit or onto a visor worn by operators.
But what the hell do I know?

P.S I loved your alienware piece
P.P.S good to see a fellow eastern-european on the forum

crazybread, That is some crazy design for a gun. I can’t wait to see it on the beast!

#124

merci d avoir donner ton avis sur mes travaux, bonne continuation tes travaux sont excellent,c’est cool:thumbsup:

#125

I was thinking along the same line as Igor D. Where the beast was much larger than it is and it was some sort of tank. It is a cool concept but I really like how your entry is turning out thus far. Has a kind of nomadic feel to it. I could see some sort of Hi-Tech Sand Raiders riding these things blasting pod racers in the distance. A beautiful piece. Cant wait to see more of your work. I will be watching this thread.

#126

Thanx for your comments and opinions. I haven’t time to do much over the last week or so, but finally squeezed some time in and did the head in test color to explore the textures a bit. Wile the gun is still occuoying about 80 of my thaughts about this projects I loved to free myself from that and actually try some color for a change. Anyways here is a posssible rty at the rendering of the head. I’m not sure if I gi this route. A bit different from the sketch, but than again nithing ever looks like the sketch noo? I’m not sure about this on. Its missing stuff, tonge, metal pieces hair atc, details. … whatever.

#127

man i couldn’t imagine more colour detail! that is insane!

How many different shades and colours have you used and blended together?

#128

Looking damn good. Indeed the bar is getting raised. Looks like we might get another WIP article out of you. Nice work.

#129

WOW!

Great job with the colours. such talent, I can’t believe it

I can’t wait to see this thing done.

#130

Yes… Very, very well!
You give a lot of attention to details. It very much impresses.
But as a whole an image insufficiently volumetric.
(I so think.)

#131

Man you are an inspiration,

no crits here you know what you are doing…:applause:

#132

Unbelievable, you just took the comp to a whole new level, Kick arse.

#133

off the topic for a sec, crazybeard if you rotate your alienware challenge piece counter clockwise (so the spaceship os down the bottom right) it looks like some crazy cutout of a cliff face… ha…

keep up the crazy work!

#134

Not that this is not absolutely great texturing,
but why not go wild with colors/materials?
This is too expected!
How about whale tipe of skin or cameleon,
or some parts translucent, or…
Well, just a thought.

keep it up

#135

oh man this is really nice , the texture and the lightning are great

This will be a masterpiece !

#136

I think everyone’s said it all - very nice.
My favorite part is the rear leg that aimed out a bit. Because everything else is pretty much side-on, it’s nice to have an element that adds some dimensionality to it.

#137

Yeah!! GReat color job!!! really amazing

#138

Wow. Looks 3d already. I’d be totally fooled even at this magnification except for the slight smearing around the eye cover. Incredible…

#139

omg !
If it’s dark for my monitor, the texture is very impressive… and it’s just the head…
you are doing a master piece !

Hey crazybread!

When I first saw the head of this beast I was already thinking:

But now seeing the color coming I just feel:

What can I say - you rock! Makes me dream of a world with those creatures…

Are you doing that for a living?

cheers
