WoohOOo!!

Thanks for the comments!!

I’m in a crazy mad rush trying to get this finished… so will try and post a few more WIP’s in the next couple of hours before i post my final image… but my wacom’s so hectic i might not get chance!!?

Did i mention i could do with something bigger than my A6 wacom…?

Hom: double WooHoo!!! I’ve been honoured with a post!! How you doin…? The background is well underway and is nice and dark. i’m still working on it sitting comfortably with the foreground though. I’s a proper big splosh of marks and so needs careful painting to get it to sit wioth the line work on the foreground. I’ll try and post a WIP…

Mikael: i knopw what you mean about the cannon… i wanted it all kinda dark cause but i 'spose it could be a little confusing. I might try and bring out some highlights in the cannon… or fur on the chimp…

Once again… cheers for the comments… it’s people being interested that has made me really push myself…

#303

done…?

#304

phew… erm… what’s the difference between ‘final colouring’ and ‘final image’…?

#305

couple of teeny changes… before midnight…?

#306

:applause: :bounce: :buttrock: Yeah! Wel done and congrats on finishing:thumbsup:

#307

Phew… that was close… still colouring monkeys with 15 minutes to go… and then i had to get the file from my laptop to my work computer so i could upload it… and nothing seemed to work right. ANd then i thought i’d make a teeny change!! It said ‘0 days 0 hours 1 minute 59 seconds’ when i logged on???

And why are 150Mb files so darned slow to save…?

It’s kinda late now… so i think i’ll cycle to my girlfriend’s house and get some sleep…

I’m gonna have such a good browse tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what y’all have posted!!!

Hi All

Friday night was a bit hectic. I had a couple of really busy weeks at work running up to the deadline so was definitley behind schedule with a week to go!! I came into the office on saturday to look through the entries and make some posts but the forum was down for its upgrade. I also wanted to give a brief story…

Most of this has been said before in my thread…

Miki (the girl) used to ‘work’ for Cirque Bezerk and the evil monkey mechanic circus owner. They performed to the grey and desperate people of the post climatic disaster world. But he wasn’t a nice boss. He had a nasty temper. And fed her stale bread. So she escaped. With the friendlier monkeys. Like the orangutan. And the MonkeyCannonDuo. Who weren’t happy either.

But the Evil Circus Owner wasn’t going to accept their escape. So now he’s after her. And he’s reeeal mad. And they’re both performing circus acts along the way.

My story is along those lines… she would still need a workshop but it’d probably have to be mobile. Like an old VW bus or something. With an awning. And an operating table. And one of those pop-up roofs. And it’d have the name of her circus painted down the side and a couple of tattered flags. And monkeys on the roof. I just felt she had to ‘do’ something. Rather than just sit around her big empty zoo. And she is exactly what you say… like a taxidermist but assembling the creatures back into life… She just uses them in her travelling circus show when she gets them working.

A girl’s gotta make a living in a post-apocalyptic world…

And she’s gotta keep ahead of those bad boy baboons of Cirque Bezerk.

At some point in the next few days, i’ll type up a more coherent version of this background story. But, basically, she’s escaped from Cirque Bezerk (and the evil monkey sultan) and is wandering around the world with her mechanical monkey circus. This scene is about her findining one of her monkeys being eaten by one of the baboons from Cirque Bezerk. And the orangutan’s not too happy about it. And she can always fix monkeys… as long as their head is okay (body parts are so easy to make from scrap… brains are complicated!!). But this one’s lost a bit of blood. He’s a goner…

It’s set just after the moped chase in one of my much earlier posts. The dead monkey was one of the guys on the moped. But he fell off the back. And they didn’t notice. So they went back to look. With the big fella. Cause he ain’t scard of no babboons. So they wanted to find the little monkey. ANd then they found him…

Anyway…thanks for the comments… It’s been great having so many messages over the course of the challenge. And i’ve enjoyed giving and recieving feedback. And some of the other work has been an inspiration. I’m definitley going to keep posting on the cgtalk forums (it’s good to get the crits)… and might even continue with ‘monkey girl’ to see where it goes. Although i have got a couple of other personal projects which have taken a back seat over the last couple of months and i’m itching to get stuck into!!

Mikael: I should be able to post some close ups…? Although the submission page isn’t there anymore!! I think i can attach them on these posts though…? I’ll try and sort some out today or tomorrow. I’m gonna be dead busy at work today… catching up for last week!!

Shawn: Of course i’d be interested in crits… although if it’s anything too brutal you could send me a PM…? You don’t wanna make me cry on the board…

Again… thanks to everyone for the support!!

So… how do we vote…?
