Machineflesh 2D Challenge Entry: Daryl Mandryk
that is very nice, you got a massive amount of movement to this, you feel for the dude that is about to get messy with the beast, the expression on the beast face is excellent, its wikkid…:bounce: ![]()
This is art:)
U managed to keep that “rage” and wildness all the way from rough sketch to final image.
Love it:)
BTW im glad to se that u mirror ur image sometimes:)
Im doing the same thing, i gues its because i that way look at the picture at a whole new way:)
Wohohoww! Very dinamic and the colors are kinda aggitating me, and that’s good because I guess that you intended this. The one in the front shoud decide fast if it fires or if it runs. I’d run like hell.
you got my vote… good work…
and I hope you agree/ understand why the compostion was thought to be fliped back… It sounded like you did it based on a few opinions.
:buttrock:
thanks guys…When I work I am constantly flipping back and forth, back and forth…it’s a lot easier to picture something in 3D that way I think. It’s sort of a poor mans method of rotating your object in 2D and looking at the other side. Usually at the very end I’ll decide which to use, the flipped or non flipped version, then sign it, then it’s done. In this case, as shawnalanpeters pointed out - it reads a bit better in the original orientation.
good point on flipping it…I will do that during the drawing stage to see what is really out of proportion…and perspective… it is a very good and easy technigue to see errors in your design. It’s amazing what will pop out in reverse.
Just wanted to come by and give you a couple of these…
…Well deserved, fantastic dynamic work, great action sequence and beautiful design and color work…tasty…:buttrock:
Really nice work!! The colorong is great, the shade of the fire so warm, beautiful, really good sketch, dynamic.Congratulations and good luck!!!:wavey:
thanks a lot, and good luck to everyone who entered…this challenge has been a lot of fun.
Great pic ![]()
This entry was propably the first serious and good looking piece when i heard of this competition. So it has been around since the beginning!
Curve of the picture is slightly too exxerated? right word? for my taste, but since its youre style it can be no actual critic.
Good luck! Gongrats on finished pic!
:applause:
