Great start on the colours :buttrock:

Kepe it up!

Great wip !!! We really can feel the flesh

Even if I think you could choose a better composition, this will be a very good one !!!

Yep I am still giving that one some thought.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

#104

like it - I do
keep track of it, I shall

may the creative force be with you

You have some serious skillz! this is coming out really nice- this pose is much better than the side view, it has much more motion and depth. What software do you use? PS?

later!

Thanks.

I’m using Painter 6 on this, and although I have to admit to being a bit out of practice with it I’m enjoying it, I don’t “normally” sketch with it, but then I don’t normally do this sort of picture either (sadly).

I really like that even though it’s partly-machine, this design has fluidity and life. The machinery is adding to the character and not weighing it down.
Maybe you could try making one of it’s limbs force the perspective - coming out towards the viewer and creating a large foreground element. Just an idea though. Nice work.

flyingP:
That’s looking AMAZING!!! can’t help but feel those beautiful wings could be a little bigger, but the pose and the base coloring are fantastic; so is the concept, very ‘Daedulus/Icarus’ in a pteradactyl sense
Can’t quite figure out the other leg as yet, but I guess that’s to come. Nice one

Atwooki

#109

Wings :surprised, sorry Atwooki wrong element, either that or I really need to go back to the drawing board, although yeah I suppose the pose does sort of call Icarus to mind on his way down.

#110

Jeez, sorry flyingP;
don’t even KNOW where ‘flight thing’ came from - is it worth editing my post? who knows…
Nonrtheless, great concept! Watching and waiting eagerly for more

Mate nothing to be sorry for, actually I quite like the Icarus idea, although I believe someone is already on to that idea, sorry I have lost track of who, there is just too much work to follow in here.

I’m still following yours as well, just your 3D skills are just a wee bit more advanced than mine so there is not a lot I have been able to comment on. It’s looking good though and is still one of my favourite concepts in here.

#112

Nice sketch quality. A lot of fun here. Need some under lighting on that last one though just to give some dimension

#113

Wonderfull P

Flying P…This last “milestone” is just wild.So rich with activity. It’s just alive. The skills are there big time. But equal to the skills is the all important style and design, the essence…Sometimes all the skills in the World cannot be enough without style and vision…Luckily you have it all.Sure would be great to create this in 3D someday…

Keep on with this wonderful work.:buttrock:

#115

Thanks Virtuoso , although I can see comments like leaving me with a very over inflated ego  .

As to building it in 3D…well yes I have already started for myself, although it may well be miles beyond my current skill level.

@ cleptocat yep agree with you on the lighting.

@ Fadao many thanks

at the moment I’m working on a more refined line version, which “I hope” I will have time to post later today.

Cheers

Not quite finished with this but it’s pretty close.
And now bit of a background story (sorry I am no copywriter). So a typical theme first but it fits,
Earth a couple of hundred thousand years in the future global warming and see levels that rose dramatically covering the almost all land have forced Mankind to adapt to a life underwater. Some of this adaptation has been of a biological nature, which is why our friend is is such an ugly sod, other adaptations, mechanical.
Apart from physical changes however mankind’s society has still remained pretty much the same, we see here for example Mr. “S”, 42 years of age, accountant, father of 2, enjoying his lunch break. (hence the collar and tie in case anyone was wondering).
Sorry I just felt I had to get some sort of lighter side in this (or have I really been putting too much sugar in my coffee  ) . Any thoughts ?

#117

Extremely neato! And the story actually makes sense now  That’s some very clean linework… hmmm… bastard…

Excellent camel fleas too! Looks like at least four of them, almost an invasion

#118

just setting up the background colours, I trying for something watery without getting into any real detail. It is also likely to change in places as I start on the final colouring of the figure.

cheers.

#119

your last lineart is almost perfect ! what a sense of details

Nice background I love the mood in it

#120

… really like the “thinking color” pic…its cool that there is still some sketchy loose pen kind off style in the pic…at the head. The background where a fish(?) thing starting to appear, looks cool…
Only thing is the flesh part; it could look like its some kind of shirt the creature is wearing, at the albow.
But thats a minor flaw, dosnt make the pic looks bad at all, just makes you wonder abit:)
But all in all::applause:
