I started to research some old DeVinci Sketches. I like the idea of incorporating old technology with a modern twist. I’m trying to work out some mechanical issues. So we’ll see what we come up with.

Here we Go
Not allot was said about my Sketch but I think my line drawing tells more of what I’m after. I wanted to show a renaissance period machine, one that would require manual power. I new the operator would need to be powerful. A creature that would have devoted all his strength to his arms. The structure and wings are built into him, so I imagine he was created or altered to serve someone’s purpose and or bidding. His arms would be busy driving the gears so I thought he might just carry bombs. I like the idea of an army of flying winged creatures dropping bombs. Can’t go wrong with that.

excellent ideas and drawings ! :applause:

(if I’d seen the first sketch before I wouldve said like
yea… nice … might be a pain to fly that … Then
you go and put that monster in the helm , make those,
umm reels(?) look extremely heavy , add cool bombs and all
and I say WOW ! cool  )

the legs look so tiny … you might add longer , finger like
toes on them . They wouldn’t carry the creature’s weight
and it would always land on its ass , let go of the wing
control handles and walk around on its huge knuckles .
He could carry food and stuff with the leg toes … ?

Good idea. Use his feet. Im going to think of some ideas. Im so glad I foud this CGTalk what a great way to share ideas.

#6

wow , awsome idea , like it very much :applause:

personally i think u should give some fuction to his leg, otherwise it would be a waste.

#7

Good going. I like the mechanical sketch style. Are you using his ribs to carry the bags? If you are, cool. Non human is the way to go.

#8

Yea, I want to show that the winged flying device is piercing through his body, Making him one with the machine. I hope to make that real clear in my next post.

#9

really wicked concept and drawings :buttrock:
The only thing i might change would be to make bigger wings, all that weight needs lift

#10

What a strong concept We feel that you thought a lot about it, the result is great, what a complex machinery  good luck man

#11

Great Suggestions Everyone. I can’t wait to finish this.
I have begun to color my image. Boy, This is lots of fun.

#12

great concept, and i like the lineart alot, god luck with coloring it

#13

Hey,

I agree with the bigger wingspan idea. Although keeping them small would certainly punish the creature by making him spin his flappers harder! Whichever way you go is winner man, keep it up!

#14

Just playing around with the color. I might be re-designing the wings.

#15

I made the wings just a pinch bigger. I like the overall shape and size of the wings; it gives an overall good design. It just means the creature has to turn the gears faster. “Kind of like a HummingBird”. I’m using layers and layers and using Painter7 and Photshop7 to slowly build up the machine/flesh creature. I’m also sketching out some background ideas I will post soon.
