I don’t understand why ZBrush and Sculptris both cause the CPU Fan to be at 100% at minimal usage all the time? Basically just opening the apps and then moving the mouse causes this. I’m running a 2.0 i7 MBP 10.6.8. These are the only two 3d applications that cause this problem for me, and renders both applications unusable. What’s going on with these programs to cause this?

Doing the same thing in Windows via Fusion… not a problem. However the problem is that I’m supposed to be able to use ZBrush in OS X and not have to use the Windows version…

Even worse with 4R5 now… this is just launching Zbrush, and not even touching any part of the interface!

hi, I had the same issue with Sculptris on Macbook Pro i7 cpu and managed to solve it by setting “mt_maxthreads 1” in the config.txt file
