It doesn’t seem this graphics card is fully supported by Mudbox 2009 on the Mac as it becomes incredibly slow with a high poly count.
If I boot using Windows I have no problems. PLEASE AUTODESK can you sort this out ASAP.

It’s not Autodesk’s fault - it’s Nvidia and Apple’s.
Hey - it could be worse. You could have bought a Quadro FX 5600 for Mac like me only to find out that it gets spanked by a Radeon on the Mac side with Mudbox.
Nvidia just announced more Quadro cards for the Mac so I’m really hoping that better drivers are coming with them. ATI’s drivers are far better on the Mac.
Honestly - if you want a good solution, I can sell you this flashed Sapphire Radeon 4870 1 GB but it only supports one monitor connection. It will destroy your Quadro in Mudbox. You won’t see that awful lag between strokes you’re likely seeing on that card too. Or you can wait for Apple and Nvidia to get their shit together.
10.5.7 is supposed to provide graphics drivers for the Quadro FX 4800 and better drivers for the Radeon 4870 - hopefully it will address shortcomings of the other Nvidia drivers too. I’ll be testing my Quadro FX 5600 in it again when it comes out this week sometime.
I just popped my Quadro FX 5600 in to see how big the difference was with this 5 million poly scene and it’s brutal. Seriously, it’s disgusting - it’s literally about 3x slower on the Quadro than with the Radeon 4870
