LW3D site has been updated with a batch of tutorials for the new features in 2019.

I’m curious, have they unified modeler/layout?

No. I’m only guessing here, but it looks like they are going the route of adding such features in Layout until Modeler is not needed. For the last few cycles it has seemed that way. They are making constant improvements to modeler but nowhere near what people have been requesting for years.
