Luma Pictures is an artist-run feature film VFX studio located a few blocks
from the beach off of Abbot Kinney in Venice, California. We maintain a
unique culture with an amazingly talented staff that consistently cranks
out top notch work. Staff and project positions are available for
exceptional artists in the following position(s):

FX Artists:

Ideal Requirements:

  • feature film experience using Real Flow
  • proficiency with maya particles, 2D/3D fluids and rigid/soft body dynamics
  • proven ability to create fire, water, dust, debris, snow, steam, fog
  • mel scripting

Pluses:

  • good design sense for creating abstract effects
  • experience with Syflex cloth simulation
  • experience with Shave and a Haircut Fur/Hair

Animators:

Requirements:

  • your reel MUST demonstrate mastery of the fundamental mechanics of animation, weight and timing
  • experience creating believable characters, as opposed to cartoony

Pluses:

  • familiarity with using motion capture data
  • facial animation experience
  • rigging experience

Additional requirements:

  • good work ethic
  • positive attitude
  • relentless attention to detail
  • strong problem solving and communication skills
  • desire to learn and contribute to a sophisticated pipeline

Pluses:

  • Los Angeles area residents with 2+ years feature film experience preferred
  • programming or scripting experience in any language(s)
