Low-Poly Character (WIP)

#1

Currently coined “Dr Wings”.

A low-poly game character I was playing with today. The images are just standerd OpenGL renders done in wings w/ materials assigned.

The links aren’t working for me!

The link above should work, but all the images are on one page…probally 250k total, for dial-uppers, ruffly 8-9 sec load time.
Sorry.

Some mores shots.

Shots encluded, Default-Material Wired, a couple wired, and a smooth render.

I don’t plan on using the smooth version, but its nice to look at.

As far as if it is finished state as low poly, no…but no more is really gong to change with the face. The model will be Trianglated when I get to a finished state. Some tweaking here and there…I think my nose, and ears could use a little work?

Topology cleanup - really.

I still have work to do on the neck, but I really want to start on the body. The concept sketches I was playing around with I think I’m going to go with the Pop-Eye arms!

Texturing needs to be done as well.

But like with most models I start I usually get sucked into doing something else - like his laboratory!

let me know what you like and what you don’t…also I realized, after the fact, that it reminds me of a cartoonish rendistion of a Tekken character, thoug h i was going for a rock-n-roll version of the old nintendo professor from Dr Gyro.
