Hi, this is my first post on this board and my first challenge. I’m open to any feedback you want to give on my included images.
Here’s a quick self portrait:
For the activity I was thinking of doing Scuba Diving and a close encounter with a shark.
Something like this quick sketch:
Here is a profile of my Toon image: Please let me know what you think or there is anything I can improve on before I start on the computer.
I’m pretty new to 3D modeling. Does anyone have any tips or guidence for me? I’m using Lightwave 7. Anything would be a great help! Thanks.
maybe exaggerate the ears? You have a pretty distinguishing hair curl in front. I definitely think you should play with that some.
Looking promising so far. The only thing with your scuba hobby, I’d think we’d have a hard time seeing “you” with all that equipment on.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll look into accentuating my dreaded ‘curl’ :hmm:
Also, about “seeing me” with all that gear. . . . I’m planning on having the mouthpiece be dangling, as if I spit it out. As for the rest, I guess I could make it a warm water dive and be in a minimal wet suit, so my legs/arms will be visible. As for the mask, I’m not sure, . . . maybe that could come off too, due to my surprise.
Thanks again!
Jon
Okay, here’s an update finally. As I said I’m new to modeling. I basically followed the tutorial in Inside Lightwave 3D 7, but altered it to create my toon. It’s probably a lot more detailed then it has to be.
Anyway, I’m using polygons and SubDiv surfaces. I don’t think I’m going to meet the deadline, but I’m learning a lot with this challenge and I’m having fun.
I’m inspired by all of you that have posted entries.
Jon
I posted my entry on Dec 7th and since the board reverted to a previous backup point my posting was LOST.
Here is what I did. My hobby is swimming and I put sharks in there because they’re my favorit wild animal. Tiburon means “shark” in spanish.
I hope I"m still eligible for the contest.

This was my first challenge, and I totally missed the fact that I had to enter my image on www.cgchallenge.com. I know now for the future :hmm:
