Living Toons - Character - seaBolt

Hi there everyone, I’m new to this forum-but I’ve heard of the challenges for a while now, and I think I’d like to give this one a go. Hopefully my nearly complete lack of skill won’t have too many of you hurting yourselves with laughter:D

I decided to go with D&D (Dungeons and Dragons, for the uninitiated) as my hobby-and poor dice rolling as my defining characteristic:rolleyes:

Wha’dya think? Cartoony enough, or should I push it more? I wonder if there’s enough face showing?

WEll I think d&d could make a REALLY cool picture…but I dont get your joke there. I dont play the game thats probably why. Not to bash your idea, but maybe show yourself as a character in the game? With other people looming overhead controlling you with dice? And THEY always give you bad rolls. Just seems like it might be more fun and maybe more challenging? Just a thought, either way this could be cool like if you built a really elaborate game board, that would be cool too. Good luck!

Well, what I was trying to roll for was to save my character from some horrible fate (poison, death magic, passing out from too much ale-that sort of thing)

And generally you need quite a bit higher than a 6 to save from these fates, so…

I like your idea, though…maybe I’ll do that instead. Hmmmm, must ponder…

I agree with Rye, keep concepting because you’ve got a really cool theme to play with! Letter rip!

Ok, trying out the concept suggested by Rye, with myself as my figure. Still feeling out the monster, but I think I have my expression correct.

This could work with the no texture requirement, too-since most of my figures are unpainted.

As you can tell, a fairly quick sketch (to say the least!)

Sorry to say-I have to withdraw from the contest…no time to work on something fun. :thumbsdow

Hopefully I can have myself together better for the next one…
