WOW!!! fantastic.

Very very nice work!!!

Just a little critic about the caricature…Comparing with the photo, i think that your head global shape is more round than what you did! It’s just a question of scaling i think!

one of my favorit! Great!

#103

Thanks, Abyss103!

Thanks for the comment, Totitch. I originally had the head a little wider, but I thought it looked a little more toony to stretch it out some. Give a neat contrast to the rotund body, I think.

#104

Little bit more done… Got his teeth in there, and I’m adding dishes. lol

#105

All looks OK. But the forearms are off to me. The underside of the forearm looks too square and the overall length is too short.
The overall look is coming along ok however. With some more details like the dish holder and it will come out even better.

#106

Thanks, for the comments, Kurtzar!

Yeah, dishwasher still is pretty incomplete. Just have the trays… still need a lot of work.

Thanks for the arm comment, as well! I’ll see about rounding it. I’m not sure about the length though… it looks pretty much like I envisioned it to be. And it is a cartoon, afterall.

Thanks again!

#107

here’s a view of the underside of the arm. I pulled a couple vertices down a smidge.

#108

Well, it’s late in my neck of the woods, so I’d better turn in. Here’s what I did today. Mostly rigging. Used smooth binding rather than my usual rigid and it turned out a lot better than I thought… I’m going to have to try smooth out more often.

So, here’s a render:

Now that I’ve got him situated, I need to adjust the lighting, but I’ll wait until the rest of the environment is done for that.

And here’s a wire/xray view:

Thanks! Now, it’s off to bed.

#109

That is looking superb! hehe i love the detail in the spray bottle. Well done. Im guessing that thing in your right hand will be the vacuume? wheres the mop and broom gonna go? Nice modeling on the inside of the dishwasher (the racks). Hehe it’s funny cause your putting away dishes in cg…hehe well its funny to me…:scream:
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Now I feel better. You see how much better it looks now mtmckinley. :applause:
I am glad you took my advice,a small detail but at the same time it glared at me. You rounded it off very nicely.Forarms now look very smooth.
Keep the details coming, the more the better for the overall scene.I really like the fact that your character is quite the mountain man in appearance and now he is doing the little dainty household duties.Just keep adding spice and details and you will have a real nice finished product.

#111

so I assume your favourite hobbie is doing the washing up?
Alright…

This is really nice. I like the details in arms and clothes. I would add a little more detail on the fingers, tho. And the last pose doesnt look natural. Just a thought.

Really great job, keep it up.

#112

Thanks, guys!

Frinsklen - No, I don’t enjoy it… I just do it ALL the time. :stuck_out_tongue: All of my other hobbies have to do with the computer.

When you say add detail, do you mean the gloved fingers or the flesh fingers? The glove is kinda meant not to have much detail.

Today I took a break as I’ve been working on this guy pretty much every day for the past week, but I couldn’t help but mess with it a little bit. I’m still fiddling with the pose. I’ve got a bit of clipping toward the hems of the pants, but I’ll take care of that later.

He’s going to be looking at a cartoon dog begging to be fed, so his facial expression comes from doing so much and yet being asked to do more. :stuck_out_tongue:

#113

lol… im still stunned  -------- your doing dishes! :shame:

but its cool… love the render

#114

lol… wicked…!! heh

#115

mtmckinley: I meant the flesh fingers. I can see it in the picture of the arm close-up you posted. Those fingers dont seem to be as detailed as the rest of the model, (which looks great as I said before).

Cheers.

#116

Thanks, guys!

I’ll see what I can do, Frinsklen. Thanks for the tip!

Sorry for the lack of updates this past weekend. After working on this guy for a good week straight, I needed to walk away for a bit. I’m going to get back to it tomorrow!

I’m also reconsidering my “hobby.”

Sure, having mountain man doing dishes is funny, but it’s kinda… boring, don’t you think?

Hmmm…

#117

small update. Trying to mess with lighting… lighting isn’t one of my strong points. :stuck_out_tongue:

#118

Hey that’s just  , i’m not big fan of that expression tought, but maybe it’s me evrybody should be happy:D

It’s bee fun to follow your progress and what’s best of all it continues:buttrock:

#119

Oh, sorry, that expression is actually not an expression… It’s just the nuetral pose of the face. :stuck_out_tongue: I am making blend shapes for it.

#120

Little change… I’m still trying to mess with the lighting… Am I wrong to try to use global illumination? I can’t seem to get it looking good. I’d appreciate lighting suggestions. For now, I guess I’ll go back and concentrate on adding clutter.

Thanks!
