bentllama: You’ll have to wait until next year now, the national finals are coming up, which need to be qualified for!

mrmark: You read my mind… I’m going to do something just like that.

Samaurai tea drinking…hmm…you could make an entire mocie based off tea ninja’s…they always fight with a cup of tea in there in hand! Sipping ever so carefully whilst doing full on karate kicks and flips with nun-chucks and such…

heeh rambled sorry…

Good Luck!!

hehe I love the character thus far…got that wacky anime look.

As for traditional martial arts, I have only seen them in tournaments. But I can say in all honesty wing chun was pretty much made for street fights. I have only had to use it once tho.

I want to learn monkey style, just cause it looks so damn cool!

exactly! I was thinking the same

a bit like ninjai, but instead he’s always seen with a cup of tea in his hand, and sips it very gentle and controlled while kicking serious ass! :scream:

ow, something else poped into my head  He should have little bags attached to his belt with all kind of herbs in it, and he can’t smile, always looks serious.

damn i’m getting all worked up

Hey, you guys keep bringing out cool ideas! I may have to make a short tv series or something!

Wing Chun is very practical, yes! A good strong style. When our website comes up I’ll have to show you my style. We’ll be doing some interactive 3d demonstrations on the site in shockwave 3d.

Monkey style is really dangerous! Not good in a street situation, because more often than not, you’ll be the one ending up in jail. Quite vicious! But yes, I agee, very cool looking style.:wip:

Thanks for all the comments so far guys, I may get some 3D going soon!

oooo you could call “tea kwon doe”!!!

:buttrock:

Here we go! Some head work going down. He looks a bit serious and un-anime at the moment, but it’s early days!

And a wire…

Dang it! I left my head at work!
Now you will have to contend with the awesome might that is my headless body.

#32

And some hands. You can’t drink tea easily without 'em! (Straws are painful).

#33

I tried some toes. I do not think I like toes on my character. Not because these ones look bad, but because I like the look of the spadey foot. I think my character is going to be wearing boots. I like boots… maybe some of those two-toed ninja boots!

one advice for the head : I think that U should make the face around the mouth, with the same “maner” as U done around the eyes, it can look better.

go on ! go on ! :wip:

#35

Thanks YoGoLo! The head will be a heavy piece of work, I think, because modelling facial features I’m still learning (thanks Wiro!) and I’m also trying to achieve an anime sort of look. I’m still working on that mouth!

Heya erilaz, got some suggestions for ya on the head…

It’s good that this is still in the early stages or this would be a pain later…

  • The red circled area is a lil to dense, you might be able to get away with removing 1 edge loop 2 at most

  • The blue circles will be problem areas later when it comes to animation, just remove an edge or two and place them a more flowing position like that half purple circle

  • the circles with the arrows are just a couple of suggestions to minimize that stretchy feel you’ll get from a final render.

As with all modeling try your best to keep a nice continuous flow in the cage.

my two pence

Hand shaping… I’m going to have to check my extensive references for a decent anime-esque skin colour!:bounce:

Wow! That’s one heck of a lot of good tips LilDragon! That’s great. Thanks very much! (I must have missed your post while putting up my hand work). Very appreciated.

As I said, the head is not my strongest area, so I may rework it a few times. This sort of feedback is just what I need.:wip:

Thanks again!:bounce:

#39

Starting to fix up those areas now (still pointy in the mouth)… I won’t be able to work more on the head until tomorrow. Did anyone have comments about the body so far?

Eye enlargement for anime look. Still lots to work on before it looks remotely good!:wip:
