living toon-character-roman

Ok, I’ll take on this challenge.:buttrock:
Making a character of myself was already planned, so now there is a good excuse to do it. (just in time for my “portfolio/demoreel”)
I will be going for a somewhat more “realistic/stylised” character. Yesterday I allready began modelling my shoes, my nike airforce 1 (I collect them). This weekend I’ll have time to take some pictures of me. These I will photomanip. and use as reference. For now I don’t have any concept drawing (yet). But I will be trying to put some of my “main interests- hobby’s” mixed into this character. So I’ll be mixing some hiphop stylo with some japanese influence (think: samurai, new and old japanese culture). We will see.:slight_smile: :buttrock:

edit: some of my hobbys are consolegaming, skratching and toy collecting.

Here’s some progress on where I’m going, still setting up my head. I see everyone is going for the very cartoony proportions and style, is that a must? (must read challenge rules one more time) Must post some reference too I suppose, will do has soon as my scanner is installed again.

It’s looking good so far. I believe the challenge is for a cartoon/caricature version of you. Some are more cartoony than others, though. :slight_smile:

I think that shoe is looking great! Good start on the face , but I agree it should look a little more toonish, play around with it, make it CUH-RAZY (especially if you are going to be a hip hop samurai)! :wink:
