The Lionqueen is a painting I started last year, but never got to really finish it.
I am happy I finished my first full fantasy character. I couldn’t go back to it anymore, since I have other painting to finish aswell. But this one is important to me, since I tried to figure out how I can put my character into a scene with those details and know I wanna create more.
At first I started with a shy, innocent looking girl and during my painting process she turned into someone fierce. Through the process that is how I felt too, unsure about what I was doing first, and getting a better picture of what I want it to look like I felt more confident with the painting. There is still a lot to learn and this was a great start.
I basically had the idea of a character who lives with lions, and her heart eventually became that of a lioness.
