Job Overview
Analyze storyboards, concept art and rough animations to translate, plan and execute the simulations and special effects desired by clients. Collaborate with production team to solve complex technical problems
that arise throughout the creative process.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Lead the effects team
• Simulate natural phenomenon by applying direct and procedural 2D and 3D
animation techniques
• Collaborate with the entire 3D team to determine various technical and design
solutions
• Create and composite 2D and 3D effects elements
• Create and communicate animation timings for effects
• Integration and optimization of the effects pipeline with the rest of the
production pipeline
Requirements:
• 3+ years experience in feature film or television effects production
• Comprehensive knowledge of both 2D and 3D computer graphics techniques
• Maya, Mental Ray, Realflow, Shake and/or Fusion
• Houdini and Massive a plus.
• Strong procedural shading techniques
• Complex compositing experience
• UNIX/LINUX operating systems
• WINDOWS operating systems
• Strong MEL scripting skills
• PERL/PYTHON scripting experience a plus
• C++/API a plus
