     Dear All
there's a whole bunch of new challenges !
So I'm thinking to reschedule a bit of them. You can choose one of them or try them all !!
Would it be good to have an car rendering to your portfolio ?
You can choose between a Lamborghini or a Pontiac or both of them !
Since this is a compositing challenge use your imagination ! these cars can be toys too !! (or whatever you want !)

    As always

Been looking for an excuse to try my hand at some lighting, thanks for putting this together and sharing the models! Now to think of a scene…

#3

May I suggest changing the roman number in the thread title to an actual arabic number?

#4

sorry for my negative input
but the lamborghini looks terrible.

is this a modelling challenge?
as the part with the highest poly count are the tires:
53k polys each tire
2,5k for the main part of the chassis

i wouldnt use this model even for a backplate

kind regards

#5

Sorry for the point guys, but the Lambo looks terrible !!!
Can’t be useful for a challenge !! And if it seems to look at the Aventador, we are far far away of an Aventador !!
The Pontiac’s great BTW.

#6

Yeah the lambo is not good, the other one is much better but there s a fair bit of problem with it.
Anyway I did a quick render for fun.
I m not sure if that s the right place where to post, let me know and I ll move it, cheers.

HI-RES

#7

Probably my fault I didn’t check the fbx export and I had meshsmooth applied to make a closeup
BTW you can see a rendering at my website
http://www.collectivedream.net/
it doesn’t look too bad.
and it doesn’t look like aventador because it’s Reventon !

You are very wellcome to do any improvement you need/want
Giorgio

#8

Sorry Giorgio, no offense for the model. And yes, i just took a look super fast for the lambo. :wip:
Still even yours renders are beautiful on the lambo, is there any possibilities to have another export ?

#9

Of course let me check in the supermess files

#10

Hi,

I am getting read error on the Pontiac OBJ file.

Thanks,
Asha

#11

I was also getting an error with the OBJ in Maya. However, it opened successfully in Blender and I then exported it as an FBX into Maya. I could share the file with Giorgio’s permission.

#12

of course ! I exported the obj and then re-imported it in max with no error :frowning: I don’t understand what is it.

#13

Here s another test (looks pretty terrible), I really prefer the first one i did.
I ll try one with the lambo, once the files get sorted.

HIGH RES

#14

Alright, here’s an FBX of the Pontiac that seems to work in Maya

CG-Creator, just keep trying! Why not create your own thread in “Lighting Challenge” section? That way we can see your progress in one location and offer to help.

#15

Ok i ll do that for the lambo

#16

Reference !
So I’ve packed a bit of references for the REVENTON !

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2F8ZSjj_IxtcEg4NC12X2JycEE/edit?usp=sharing

And that’s why I had modelled with too many polygons the tires since also for me in max whre just istances :frowning: If anyone would like to make a low poly tire and share it’s no problem for me or you just can go for a high def close up

#17

Here are couple of basic renders of pontiac.
Normal shaders used and rendered in maya , mental ray.

Looking forward for some feedback.

thanks.

#18

The two cars are almost unusable, I would almost go so far as to say a complete waste of bandwidth downloading them.

#19

How about some constructive feedback. !! or did you mean the models itself.

#20

pls explain why unusable we will try to fix if possible. It’s a forum effortbe patient and if you can pls contribute !
