this is amazing. Like if Pixar made a terminator endoskeleton only with more style. Awesome work / modeling / design. I really want to see how this turns out.
Hey, thanks for the comments guys, appreciate it! Glad you like it so far!

I’ve got the body drawn out better, and modelled up the legs. I’ve added a tiny hip joint - the circles at the top of the legs so he has a kind of suspenision up there. The rigs real near finished. I’ll post of video of how it all works when it is!
The neck is the last thing to do - its not staying attached to the chest right now! As you can see in the pic!
Dont understand why this isnt getting any more replies…
it looks great (and really complicated).
it should look bad ass when animated
Its not getting more replies because people can’t understand it’s supreme awesomeness. 5 stars from me.
There’s no other way to say this other than…
You’re ****ing insane.
This is amazing.
just see your Wip for the first time…
your good! what a work!
Personally I am completely skeard by “it”
ok,
Even if you are representing unrealistic world, you took care about balance and suspensions matters.
But I was just thinking that the spring for the head will not be able to bear the weight of it in the present position.
It will twist.
wow
i wonder how you manage so mechanical detail in a model!!?any industrial background?
brilliant work 5 star
looking for more updates:thumbsup:

Not had any time to work on this for ages! Heres me trying to work out the colours! The left is all maya blinns - I had trouble getting exactly what I wanted, so I switched to mentalray mia’s on the right - really easy to setup! Arms are still not really done and the metals shining way too strong. Next i’ve gotta set up an actual scene with proper lighting and check the shaders! I need to put the yellow stripe back on his hat too.
CHRiTTeR - thanks for the comment! I’m doing some test anims now so pretty soon i’ll make a video of it animating
cshanks - Ha! Cheers buddy!
3mm, ladav, DemolishMan, DeltaAddiction - cheers guys!
tsurubaso - yeah, I agree with you, it’s all very precariuosly balanced. I thought about putting an internal piston structure within the neck, but it didnt really read well, and I decided to leave that element unrealistic - I really want the head to bob around ridiculously, so I kept the neck light.
Ta for checking this out - hopefully updates will move a bit quicker soon!

As i’m embaressed not to have done anything in such a long time, im going to post this old image that I dont like as a small attempt to kick me into some kind of work mode again. Right now though, i’m so lazy! Look at the silly colours!
wow ,oh the helmi, looks funny and sweet, great amount of details. but im curious how you wanna do the feets, this needs to be very large to hold the ballance for the model. or build a wheelchair around.
i think this could getting pretty nice, i hope i can see some updates soon
Wow! Delay! Been ages since I worked on any of my own stuff - finally got a bit of time so I decided to kick it off again, but start really simple. Im making some childs woodblock toys, possibly for the robot to play with. Ive been working on the shader, heres the development.

Its a couple of mias I mixed together using a shader I grabbed form the djx blog- (great blog)!
BUT! These blocks have a cheecky robot secret - little arms they use to move about. Heres an early attempt at the model - colours and shaders are all very temp.

Well! Its nice to post something again - even if it is just cubes. Hope you`re all well! The blog as always has a ton more drivel on it - check it out!
