I wrote a pretty usefull plugin called “DSculpt” (will be out soon). It stands for “Deformation Sculptor”. It’s kinda an enhanced PointEdit. One of the main differences with PointEdit is that you can convert vertices to nulls on only a specific part of the mesh (using a weight as a selectiontool) avoiding the overkill of having too many nulls on portions that don’t need m.
It allows to create/model your own nonlinear morphs in Messiah itself. One of my main motivations was to deal with corrective morphing once and for all with 100% control and accuracy in a fast WYSIWYG way. But it can be used in for many, many ways…
I also dealt with Object replacement and point count/order issues as much as I could.
No problem so far.
The problem comes when you start modeling the morphs. A small portion of a simple mesh (elbow region) can quickly count 32 to 64 points/nulls. It’s a hell of a job just to select them…
Therefore a lasso selection tool would be grrreeaat and solve all the problems.
I understand Messiah is a AnimationTool and that lasso selection is not really needed.
I implore the PMG Lords to add thizz little feature. In combination with the plugin it would be a great improvment to Messiah.
Thx
Let’s push things forward.
