La Lettre - Short Movie

Hello everybody!

My girlfriend and I are working on a short movie called La Lettre (“The Letter” in english :slight_smile: ) and we are opening our production blog: http://lalettre-movie.blogspot.com/.
We use Maya and Mental Ray / Mental Core.

Let’s start with our characters renders

Thanks a lot redCigarette. We still have a lot to do, we’re hoping for a release in a little less than a year, but if we think it’s not ready then, we’ll work a bit more on it :slight_smile:

I really like the style of the characters and the environment, it is the “perfect” mix between realism and toon.
Only thing that I personaly would do a bit different is the whiteness of the face of Charles, for my taste the contrast is to high. But I have to say as well, that the style is coherent, so in this case it is only a matter of different tastes I guess.
Also, I find it very interesting that you guys work on this as a couple :), I would like to hear how that works out for you in the end… I’ll be following this :slight_smile: . Good luck with the Short !

Thank you for the comments guys, we really appreciate.
About the face of the postman, the contrast you see here is voluntary as this will reflect the evolution of the character :wink:
Working as a couple is actually going well for us. But maybe the fact that I still have a job and work on the project during my spare time helps. We maybe would have killed each other already if we were working 24/7 together, haha! :smiley:
