Let me say first Jeff that your work is very inspirational and you have a great style. Although I said that before, style defines your brush line from everyone else, so that if you drew a picture and didn’t put your name on it, people would still know who did it. Yep you know that, but some might not. Your Thor I felt needed a critique, since it seemed to have lost some things in the transition…hope you don’t mind.

Little head, Big body, little legs, big hammer…no problem with this, it’s playful. Thor could hold a Hammer this size in the way he is holding it with little issue, but the size of the hammer head is vastly overpowering to the rest of the figure. There is a whole lot more detail put into it that Thor is lost. Did you intend that? The head of the hammer has what probably was to be splintered wood on the edge, but to my eye, it looks more like grass blades. Also on the surface of it, there would be a depression where he used it to pound the heads of those non-believers…so maybe repositioning of the hammer is in order. The handle doesn’t look to have the meat needed (even with the reinforced shaft) to hold the head, but that is more of opinion probably. As for the figure, there is a conflicting interest where the boot lining meets the cloak edge. It might have helped to make the lining more prominent, separating these two area’s. And last, the chest piece, Thor isn’t my favorite character by any stretch, but i always look at the way an artist drew out his chest armor first. There are so many great looking elements in there that it demands to be seen, not hidden behind the hammer…

O.K., so that’s what I see. Take it with a grain. I enjoy being notified on my email that you posted something new…Thanks for sharing.

The Hellboy’s are just amazing. Are they color pencil, or do you have a digital setting on a brush for those?
