Nice work!
The quality is much better for the new Kinect, and it looks like
you are right on top of things trying to get as much out of it as fast as possible.
Looking forward to seeing more demo videos.
Venkman: The Kinect sensor that comes with the XBox One is not compatible with PC since it doesn’t have a USB plug.
Microsoft will release a PC compatible sensor based on the same design in 2014, in my video’s I’m using a pre-release development kit of that upcoming Kinect for Windows v2 sensor.
Cool! With the current Kinect sensors it is very hard to use multiple sensors at the same time, something with the dot patterns from different sensors interfering with each other, do you know if that problem is solved with the new hardware?
Yep you’re right jonadb, overlapping multiple current gen Kinect sensors creates a lot of artifacts due too the noise pattern interference.
I’ve asked some key people about combining multiple Kinect v2 sensors and they sound positive about it.
Currently there aren’t that many v2 sensors out in the wild yet, but hopefully some friends of me will have one in town soon so we can actually try it for real.
