Keying out of focus subjects in Nuke

#1

Hello CGSociety,

I am working on a project and am using Nuke for all of the VFX. I am quite a new user of Nuke, and have been struggling with a shot against a green screen with in and out of focus elements. The in focus actor was keyed out very easily, but I am having trouble getting a clean key of the out of focus actor.

I’ve included an image link here for reference.

Any workflows you can recommend to help cut the out of focus actor out cleanly would be most appreciated.

If any of you have the time to cut out the out of focus actor using the image I included, I would forever be grateful if you would include a screen recording (Macs come with Quicktime which can be used for screen recordings) of how you accomplished it.

Thank you in advance,

Best wishes,
Chris
