Keeping my poly`s smooth 3ds max

First post , so hello to everybody.

I have just embarked on trying to become reasonably proficient at poly modeling within 3d Studio Max and decided to jump in at the deep end and try and model a helicopter.

Although Im getting on fine with the modeling I have hit a small problem with the smoothness of fuselage.

When I extrude the edge of the cockpit backward toward the rear of the plane to create the main body Im getting the line effect as shown in the attached picture

My question is as to whether or not there is any quick way of getting rid of this.

Its probably caused by a slight wobblyness in your edges. You can try selecting the edges that are too light on top and too dark on the bottom, and push them in a slight amount.
