Kapsule Super Hero

This is just something fun I threw together for the Hash image competition this month, but like it.

Apart from the energy beam the image took less than an hour. Playing with the various beams probably tripled that. And I think I like the first one I did anyway (the middle image).

Hey that great. Love it!!

The top beam look more “mean” to me.

#4

If I had a vote, I’d vote for the top one too…but, they are all very cool.

#5

Nice! Lots of action and drama.

How did you make the beam?

#6

I’ll vote for the last one. Looks great.

I see a bit of inspiration from The Incredibles .

Is the background finished ?
Also, I first thought that the trail behind him was something holding him up. Have you considered fading it as it trails away ?

Thanks for the comments. I added trailing motion blur by dropping in a semi-transparent copy of the superhero behind.
John: the beam is a central tube surrounded by a group of four splines with render as lines applied. The line material has a high randomness (500%)and randomness scale (300%). In the chor I animated these values to 400 and 275 for motionblur. Then I added two lense flares, one from the central light and one which moves from the central light out along the beam over the duration of the frame.
Vegan:I think that’s it, Just some holiday fun. I haven’t seen the Incredibles (it doesn’t open here til the 26th). I quite like the stark trail, but i might fade it off, just to see.

Looks great! I like the addition of the motion blur as well. I was a bit confused too by the energy trail behind him at first. I thought maybe it was from his gun since both emit white energy. Have you thought of changing the colors of the energy trail to like a green or yellow or something?

Very nice hero John, I like the expresion, it seems enough security by himself, like a superhero…I´m participating too…see you there and have a good luck:thumbsup:
