the hair appear cropped with Photoshop from real image and then applied, for the rest it’s really fantastic, this is my only impression.

Yeah I too automatically thought the hair had been comp’d in photoshop from a photo. The right edge of her cheek kinda tells me it aint shave. Would appreciate seeing your hairstyle guides and a wireframe. Other than that great job on the skin and modelling.

Brilliant work.

I think asking to see the guides etc is a good idea here, simply because your work is so good. I am amazed at how far hair has come, just looking at this. I like. I recall that vid of the alsatian shaking its fur done in Shave, even back then it was amazing what we were seeing on an affordable package.

yes please. Show the guides for the hair. I’m sceptical about this one. If it’s 3D, an award for the hair realism alone (not the style) but i feel the face doesn’t match up to the excellence of the hair.

Mesh hair + Shavehair

Shavehair 的Percent Mutant Hairs分成高中低不同的數值

這樣頭髮會有增加不同的顏色…讓頭髮增加雜色

大約製作3層Render Pass 做這部份

在讓Hair捲曲後在算2層Render Pass

至於Hair算太大很吃力

圖解析度太小變緣容易卡卡的

Hair matte 在邊緣做Blur處理

最後在丟到DF做合成

Hair RenderPass:

Percent Mutant Hairs3up + Frizz(Kink) Hairs2up + Blur Hair matte + meshHair + DiffuseHair + Shadow

Final use Digital Fusion Composite

The only thing that looks odd is that the hair doesnt seem to cast any shadow, there should be some soft shadows or AO to make it look less flat against the face.

Shame it’s not induvidual strands. Looks like photos of hair pasted on to the geometry. Works quite well though but waiting for the time a real hair system looks like that.

Well it is a very good effort at a 3D hair system that works and looks good - As you originally stated… its a mixture of mesh and shave… which is probably the best solution! Good job :wink:
