The only thing that looks odd is that the hair doesnt seem to cast any shadow, there should be some soft shadows or AO to make it look less flat against the face.

Shame it’s not induvidual strands. Looks like photos of hair pasted on to the geometry. Works quite well though but waiting for the time a real hair system looks like that.

Well it is a very good effort at a 3D hair system that works and looks good - As you originally stated… its a mixture of mesh and shave… which is probably the best solution! Good job

I’m sorry, but i dont buy this.
Your wires are different from the final render.
From the wires, your lower part of the right frame the hair is Straight, but in the render it makes a curve.
To me it is just a photo with some 3d elements pasted on it.
Looking forward to see if you can convince me otherwise tho. The hair just looks to real too be true.
