Lammakian,
It’s for a purpose.
But, talking to other people here, I’m starting to wonder what really works.
If it’s really necessary to do these studies.
I might be old school, where you learn things from textbooks that have line drawings. So I think I should.
With the net, now there are all sorts of poses and life models to copy and art methods to emulate.
I’m starting to think doing those instead is enough.
If we recognize people personally by appearance or attitude or voice, without really knowing their bone structure, or psychoanalysing or voice box, why wouldn’t a capable drawing of a given subject be just as valid without all the textbook anatomy?
It’s a new question to me, so I don’t have an answer.
The idea is, to draw a given character, gender, role, get poses, examples, character models and learn what they look like.
Without the technical study.
I don’t know.
This is probably bad form or even backhanded, though I can’t analyze why, but-
To be quite blunt, I’m doing all these to be able to do what you’re doing.
Yep.
I don’t have one image in my thread that’s similar.
All I said above may sound critical of your method, but if you’ve indicated that you haven’t gone to all the trouble with anatomy, then again quite frankly, your drawings/images still work great.
So what I’m doing here just might be preoccupied scribbling when I should just be making my next image.
I’m not sure.
